i have a blog and i dont feel a need to label myself one way or the other
its more because i dont like to be put in boxes, i.e., labeled by others and prefer to define myself and in this case, i don't think that there should really be a big deal.

I was just about to touch on something very similar to this.
A TRUE blogger IS a reporter. The true essence of the blog is to reach others, and inform, while being able to include personal thought. Similar to an editorial in a newspaper. Those who don't research are simply ranting. Just my POV…
I'm a blogger and I've had a problem with being called a blogger. I know that a lot of times blogger is a new term for unemployed. You know just like model and actress.lol
I've embrace the term blogger though. Although I still say to some that I have a website on music and not a blog on music or that I write about music. I guess I really haven't embraced saying I'm a blogger. Like some one else said, I have other businesses and interests.
I say blame the media because they only focus on Perez Hilton and the rest of the gossip bloggers. I don't gossip because I'm really bad at it. I just like to write about music and share it with others with similar taste.
Bloggers have made it tough on "traditional writers" in mainstream media. The internet has changed the way news is covered, and the established media outlets are still (for the most part) having trouble embracing the change.
Agreed. I think there are pros and cons to both traditional journalism and blogging. Very valid points.

When did it become bad to be a blogger? I think I missed something. I look down on most "internet marketers" because most are hacks…but a blog is just your opinions. How can those be wrong?
