My Blackberry is Officially Kaput!
I am an ambassador when it comes to Blackberry products. I have been a loyal user since 2006, and I have upgraded each time a new series of phones come out. When I woke up yesterday morning, I had no idea that before I went to bed, my love for Blackberry 8900 would be challenged.
It was right before I was going to take my daughter to PM kindergarten when I happened to look at my phone and noticed that instead of my pink theme, there was a white screen of blankness instead. I didn’t think much of it at the time, and simply did a battery pull which I thought would solve the problem.
Still white screen. No hourglass. Nothing.
I pulled the battery again and did this several times and womp womp. Nothing. Zero. Zilch.
After dropping my 5 yr old at school, I promptly went to T-Mobile so they could replace my phone. After doing some research, I was told that I couldn’t get a replacement because I didn’t purchase the phone from them (it was a gift) and my insurance wouldn’t cover it.
But my phone miraculously started working and I left the store pretty satisfied. That was until after dinner when my phone once again went white.
So I Googled some info and found out that by reinstalling the operating system, it may restore itself.
After having problems with the Blackberry Desktop software and the phone, I finally got the new OS on the phone. But it still has a white screen.
My phone has died a painful death.
So I guess I will have to shell out more dough for another Blackberry. I’ve only had it for six months or so but such is life. One thing I learned is that I will always purchase the phone from T Mobile, and if its a gift, I will make sure it comes with a warranty of some sort.
Right now, I am rocking my Blackberry Pearl which has been with me through thick and thin. I plan on purchasing another phone ASAP, but in the meantime, a girls got to do what a girls got to do, right? Being as how I am not eligible for an upgrade until December, I will have to pay full price for the gadget. 
If there are any businesses that want to gift me a Blackberry for a review, please contact me! As a loyal RIM customer, I would be a perfect candidate to review the new Bold 9700.

Tmobile just dropped it's prices on the 8900 and 9700 you shouldn't have too much to pay for the new one.
Only 6 months with a phone. I don't care who makes it I would be pissed. With that said #TeamBlackBerry and I do love my 9700 Bold. Great phone!
I'm still BB. I can't see myself using another device. (Unless it was free of course). And even then, it would be hard.

Wow, I must be the only one here who doesn't like BB. The interface and controls drive me nuts. And here the specialised plans are mucho expensive – far more than they are actually worth.
However I did fall in love with my Nokia E63 when I got it (free with my plan from Vodafone) a few days ago. The only phone I've ever had that I didn't find something to dislike about within the first week. And trust me, this must be my 30th phone in the past 5 years.

That stinks – did you contact Blackberry about the problem? Maybe there is a recall or something going on that they know about that T-Mobile does not. I know with my iPhone some things I have to talk to Apple about, other things I have to talk to AT&T about.
I have actually contacted RIM who makes BB and they are researching it and may be able to replace my phone. RIM has a warranty for all of their phones regardless where it was purchased.
I'd be hot. HOT!! if my phone just went kaput after 6 months – gift or not. Though I'm not a BB girl – I love Palm products – I'd be a hoppin' mad sister. I have a Palm Pre (knock on wood), and I thought it died and I drove right to the Sprint store ready to rail. The comforting thing was, even before I could get the phone out the case, the salesman said they would replace the phone if they couldn't get it to work. And then, while standing there my son's new headphones ??…he broke them!! The guy didn't even ask where we got them from, he just took my son's headphones and replaced them.
That is customer service – and it's what I expect when I spend a kabillion bucks on a phone.
i hope you do a little more push back in regards to this Blackberry. My husband has gone through 2 of those wretched phones in the past year … I'd say something is wrong with that brand.
I have the Blackberry Bold and have just as many problems with it as I did with the Blackberry Curve. I'm sorry I didn't get an iPhone!
I'm morning over your BlackBerry. I JUST got my first one last week and I'm soooo in love. I wrote a post about it and even did 2 youtube videos about him. (I named him Bernie, after Bernie Mac). Anyway. I really hope a wireless company sees your post and sends you one soon- warranty and all. In the meantime…"I tip my 40 to its memory…."

I use to love my Pearl and now i'm an Android girl. I really want the 9700 but i'm loving all of the constantly new features of the G1. TMobile is really doing a great job with that. I'm stumped. Do I go back to being a BB chick or a Android chick? lol RIP Danni's BB : )
BB for life! LOL. But if I have one more problem, I may go to the Android side. *sshhh* LOL

The Blackberry white screen is a very well know issue. The fix entails to install a new version of the operating system. It is not a pice of cake for everyone. Plus, you risk losing your data.
