There is so much to do in New York City that it is hard to cover everything in a mere three or four days, but I did my best on this trip to see more parts of the city. My travel companion and I took the subway to SoHo and found it was rich with shopping sites and fashion plates. If you are a fashionista, SoHo is the area for you. While in SoHo, we ran into the Scholastic Store and I picked up a few things for my daughter. The Scholastic Store is the only one of its kind and is a perfect for the vibrancy in the SoHo neighborhood. If the kid in your life loves books, this is a great place to visit and play!

When we finished at The Scholastic Store, my friend and I went to a very stylish and trendy, yet urban and friendly, bar and grill called West 3rd Common Bar and Restaurant. Dan Warren, the owner, was very personable and shared stories with us while we waited for our meal! I was very impressed with the service and the food was gourmet, not your typical bar fare!

Once we left SoHo after checking out the shopping, we made our way to the site of the World Trade Center. It was a moving moment to say the least. Seeing the area where so many people lost their lives in person was heart wrenching. We went to the World Trade Visitors Center, which serves as a memorial of artifacts, film, photos, and information about the 9-11 tragedy, which also got to me, so much so that I had to fight back tears.

This trip was amazing, and I have a newfound appreciation for NYC, so much so that I am planning to visit again before the end of the year. I hope you enjoyed the coverage of my New York City vacation as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you!
