    Not only should employees not use the company's computer for personal business, any company issued cell phones have now fallen under the rule of not using company property for personal business.

    The Supreme Court recently ruled that employers can read employee text messages on company issued cell phones as well. So, although the convenience of being able to combine all forms of personal and business communication into one device makes some peoples lives easier and more streamlined, it's always best to keep your personal and professional lives separate.       Wow, thanks for the link! I went more in detail about ALL company equipment in the blog posts I mentioned in this article, but the fact that the Supreme Court got into these matters means that people really need to be more careful.
