Chicago—TCC Visits the Real Gotham City

September 23, 2010 3 Comments »

As a girl who appreciates travel and a wonderful city with historical presence, amazing architecture, and massive amounts of things to do, Chicago is one of my favorite destinations. Classy, urban, and fun, there is always something to do in the Windy City. Each time I visit the CHI, I am always impressed with the sprawl of the city life. I know the Big Apple is supposed to be the greatest city in the world but, in my opinion, Chicago is EVERYTHING. And there is no contest when it comes to pizza. New York Pizza is nil in comparison to the deep dish delicacy that is Chicago Style Pizza. The home of Oprah and President, Chicago holds a special place in my heart.

As I announced a few weeks ago on my blog, I am starting my travel series with another blogger, That Tech Chick, in Chicago. As you are reading this, I am on my way to Chicago via Southwest Airlines. I plan on taking in the sites and sounds of the big city and will be live blogging, tweeting, Facebooking, etc. about our quests in Chicago.

We are staying in the fabulous Comfort Suites Chicago Hotel on North Michigan and plan to visit the DeSable African American Museum. In addition, we have a wonderful tour scheduled with Macy’s on State Street and I must eat a pizza pie from Giodorno’s. After all, I am a foodie.

Hopefully you will be following our conquest this weekend on my Twitter and on our blogs.

Chicago is the real Gotham City, for those of you who don’t know. The Big Apple is great, but there is nothing in the world like Chicago.

Tweet’cha soon!
