Today marks the celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr., and his 'Dream' of all of us co-exisiting in society as equals and as one. It's important for me to help instill dreams and goals for my children, so they grow up knowing that with hard work and determination, anything can be in their reach.

Last weekend, my daughter and I worked on a Dream board (or vision board) activity, to help her visually see her goals. It was something fun for us to do, but also was a lesson in teaching my daughter to dream and visualize what it is she wants. Even though she is 7, she isn't too young to have goals.

Below is a video of the how we made her dream board. Enjoy! And I appreciate your 'likes' for the video.

When I learned of Amy Winehouse's death earlier this year in July, I was in shock. Being that I had been a fan of Amy's music since her first album Frank, the loss came as a shock to me. We all knew Amy was wild and fearless and had her share of problems with drugs---but she seemed to have an invincible type of aura. You knew she was going to rise triumphant, but in the end, that was not to be.

Amy continues to live through her memory and her music, and Amy's tribute album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures, debuted last week. It features the single and video to 'Our Day Will Come', a melodic odyssey of Amy's jazzy and distinct vocals backed by a soulful band. It is quintessential Amy Winehouse and showcases the many reasons why she was a vocal juggernaut.

The new album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures, features music that Amy was working on before her death. Amy's duet with Tony Bennett 'Body and Soul' was the first single, and also showcases tracks from producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi. I have not listened to the album in full yet (as I downloaded it on iTunes but haven't listened to it in its entirety), but 'Our Day Will Come' and 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow' are my standout favorites.

There are many singers like Adele, Duffy, and even Lady Gaga who continue in the tradition of magnificent vocals, epic swag, and true talent. But there will always be one Amy Winehouse. No one can do it better.

The other day while Christmas shopping for my youngest at Toys R Us, I came across a 25th Anniversary Edition Cabbage Patch Kid doll. Seeing it brought back a lot of memories of back in the day when the Cabbage Patch Kid doll was the most coveted toy on the face of the earth. I can still remember seeing the footage of parents fighting over the dolls on Black Friday, and I also remember how sad I was that I was one of the last kids in my group of friends to get a Cabbage Patch Kid. It was like you weren't validated unless you had at least one.

I also remember how as quickly as they made a splash, the Cabbage Patch Kid doll also seemed to go quietly in the night, fading into obscurity. After being made by Coleco (who later filed for bankruptcy) and then later Mattel, the dolls were never able to reach the fever pitch that they did in 1983 and 1985.

Created by a college artist by the name of Xavier Roberts (who later licensed the doll to Coleco), the sculptured Cabbage Patch Kid doll was first sold in Cleveland, Georgia at BabyLand General, a faux but realistic looking hospital in which the dolls were actually born, and showed being delivered by a "doctor" from out of a cabbage. Once a Cabbage Patch Kid doll was born, they were given a name and then could be adopted for a fee.

BabyLand General still is open to this day and sells the original Cabbage Patch Kid doll along with the later popularized Coleco version.

If you are a 70's or 80's baby, then you know all about the Cabbage Patch Kid doll. Do you remember the Cabbage Patch Kid frenzy? Did you have a doll?

Here is footage from an old newscast in 1983 showing just how crazy people were over the Cabbage Patch Kid doll:

Here is an original Cabbage Patch Kid commercial from 1983 when they were at their peak:

The first time I saw Natalie Wood in a film, I was a junior in high school, and we were forced to watch West Side Story in drama class. She was simply stunning, her beauty almost looked too massive to be seen on the less than stellar school TV on rollers. Her eyes danced and swayed and she talked, her skin flawless, and her cheekbones were like a work of art.

Later that year, I watched her in another film, Splendor in the Grass, opposite Warren Beatty, and became captivated. Such a fabulous woman, and such a tragic story!

Last month, officials in Los Angeles reopened the case surrounding her death, and Natalie has been catapulted back into the mainframe of pop culture. She was such an amazing woman who was gone too soon, but still manages to live on in film.

Here is my photo homage to Natalie Wood, my Hollywood heroine and a glamorous chanteuse.

Directed by iconic film director Spike Lee, this State Farm commercial captures so much and is a fitting tribute to first responders who risked their lives on 9/11. We thanked them then and we are still thanking them now.

With the words of Alicia Keys' chorus from Empire State of Mind, the children in this commercial really bring home the feeling of being proud to be a New Yorker. Resilient, strong, and united.

Take a look and see for yourselves. If this doesn't move you...

This Sunday marks the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11. On that day, over 3,000 people lost their lives during four targeted attacks on U.S. Soil---The Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania where a plane hijacked by members of Al Qaeda was flown into a field by passengers who were trying to stop it from flying into a building in Washington, D.C. More than 6.000 people were injured and left us wondering---WHY?

My oldest was 7 years old at the time of the 9/11 attacks. At the time, I didn't know what to say to him. He didn't ask any questions, but he knew something happened. I wasn't prepared to discuss it with him, and I guess he knew that because he never broached the subject with me. We kind of tried to go back to business as usual shortly afterwards, but it was hard. We lived by the airport and for 4 days, never heard a plane fly by or rattle the house. As a mother, I failed because I didn't explain to him the enormity of what had happened.

My other child was not born at the time of 9/11, and now she is 7 and I don't want to make the same mistake with her that I did with my son. When she was 5 years old, I sat down with her on 9/11 and explained to her what happened on that day. We watched several programs honoring those that lost their lives, and when I visited the site of Ground Zero last year, I shared the pictures with her and my son. I didn't want it to be a secret---I wanted her to express how she felt about the tragedy and know that she could ask me any questions.

I ask the question of how do you talk to your kids about September 11th because for many years, I didn't know how to broach the subject. And now that we have an open forum in my home to discuss the disaster, I want to hear from others so I can also implement other methods.

This year, with it being the 10th anniversary, both of my kids and I will be watching the many specials and documentaries about September 11th. I want them to always remember what happened, and that it can happen again. Not to scare them, but to let them know that there are still people out there that want to hurt us and cause us pain. I would rather be honest with my kids than to sugarcoat it, or pretend that it didn't happen. Or to forget.

How do you talk to your kids about September 11th? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Below are pictures I took at the Tribute WTC Visitors Center at Ground Zero in NYC.

When legendary actress and songstress Lena Horne passed away last year, I was overcome with sadness. My grandmother was a big fan of hers and I grew up listening to her records and watching her in movies like Stormy Weather, Ziegfeld Follies, and The Whiz. Hollywood not only lost a great talent, but a woman who was beautiful both inside as well as out. Her memory now lives on in her work and in the beautiful photographs that captured her essence, style, and incredible profile.

My Cube Style Icon series would not be complete without a dose of Lena Horne. Enjoy!

ONLINE Coreg FOR SALE, Google has pretty much taken over as the most used email service, but back in the day, Hotmail was the king of free email service

While browsing the MSN.com homepage a few days ago, I saw a prominent ad that looked a little something like this:

I began to have memories of my old Hotmail account---it was 1996 when I set it up and it was a pretty big deal. I didn't have the Internet in my home then, where can i buy cheapest Coreg online, Where can i order Coreg without prescription, and only used it at work, so I was ineligible for an email account with AOL or Prodigy because I didn't have an account, order Coreg from United States pharmacy. Buy Coreg no prescription, Hotmail was cool because it was free and I didn't have to be one of the cool kids with a computer or dial up account to have it, and I remember giving it to everyone and checking it often to see if I had any messages, Coreg from canadian pharmacy. Buy generic Coreg, More often than not, I didn't have many new messages because this was pre-spam and not many of my friends or family had Internet access back then, buy cheap Coreg no rx. Where can i buy Coreg online, When I did receive an email, it was always a joyful occasion, buy Coreg from canada.

All of this talk of nostalgia is making me want to re-up my Hotmail account and utilize it again, Coreg gel, ointment, cream, pill, spray, continuous-release, extended-release, Online buying Coreg hcl, even if it's just for fun.
