In 1998 (the year of the film, Titanic), I had an Oscar celebration complete with cupcakes with platinum and gold frosting. We also had our own "Oscars" in which we voted on our favorite movies in each category, and I used envelopes with gold embossed seals to open the results.

Let's get this out of the way right now. I am not proud of the fact that I watch Dance Moms. If you don't know what Dance Moms is, it's a reality show focused on 7 girls who attend Abby Miller's Dance Studio in Pittsburgh, PA, alongside their mothers who often clash with Abby, and sometimes, each other.

The 43rd Annual NAACP Image Awards took place on Friday evening in Los Angeles, and everyone who is anyone in the African American Hollywood community was in attendance. The NAACP Image Awards recognizes the best of the best as it relates to film, music, television, historical figures, and more, and is a celebration of African American entertainers.

At this point in time, Adele can do no wrong. After undergoing throat surgery on her vocal chords last year, and winning 6 Grammys for the songs that made up her latest album, '21', Adele is the IT girl of the moment.

Last night's Grammy Awards were full of fab glam, Hollywood A-listers, and musical elite. It was a somber affair due to the untimely death of Whitney Houston, but stars pulled through to celebrate her music and honor those who released great music over the past year. In terms of fabulous fashion, this year's Grammy was not up to par with previous years and I was a little disappointed in most of the looks that I saw on the red carpet.

I first became acquainted with Whitney Houston's music in 1985 when my parents bought her first album. I can still see the album cover. Her short hair slicked back, natural makeup in place, glowing in an island-like backdrop. Peaches and mauves showcased her face, and she was simply stunning.

Yesterday during a visit to NBC's Today Show, Food Network star, chef, restauranteur, and author, Paula Deen, confirmed the rumors that she has been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. This was not a surprise to most, since the types of foods Paula cooks on her show (filled with butter, heavy cream, sugar, etc.) are not the healthiest recipes one can prepare.

As many of you are aware, I love OPI and make it a point to buy almost every collection that comes out. This weekend, I saw that my favorite spa, Go! Spa, had the Nicki Minaj by OPI collection in stock, so I dashed over there with my friend, Robyn, to pick up the Nicki Minaj Minis that were available.

Hate it or love him, The Donald creates interesting television. Last season's Celebrity Apprentice experienced great ratings, thanks to the antics of a well cast set of contestants. And if this new season is anything like the last, it will be must see TV.
