Today marks the celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr., and his 'Dream' of all of us co-exisiting in society as equals and as one. It's important for me to help instill dreams and goals for my children, so they grow up knowing that with hard work and determination, anything can be in their reach. Last weekend, my daughter and I worked on a Dream board (or vision board) activity, to help her visually see her goals. It was something fun for us to do, but also was a lesson in teaching my daughter to dream and visualize what it is she wants. Even though she is 7, she isn't too young to have goals. My CES adventure this year has been nothing short of amazing! For the last three days, I have been absorbing all that is fab, fly, hip, and tech at the annual Show. But one of the best parts about CES is the opportunity to attend events off-site that give you the chance to mix it up with a crowd you may have a lot in common with. On Tuesday night, I attended the Clever Girls Collective Ladies Who Tech Happy Hour, which took place at the fabulous Wynn/Encore at BARTOLOTTA. It was hosted by Beth Blecherman (@TechMama), who I finally got to meet in person. We noshed on exquisite appetizers and finger foods that were created with my foodie instinct in mind. We also got the pleasure of meeting peeps from Sony Electronics and Kingston, who gave us some glam swag including a new Sony Bloggie Live video camera and a Kingston Wi-Drive. A few lucky chicks won a Wii as well as an Epiphanie Bag, which I have been wanting for like, forever! But, the highlight of the event was meeting Project Runway Season 9 winner Anya Ayoung-Chee, who was in the house on behalf of HP. Anya, who is a Trini and proud to say it, beat out all the competition last season on Project Runway with her fabulous fashion that boasts an aesthetic that is nothing short of amazing. I was able to have a short chat with Anya, and she explained what is next up for her: (excuse the volume, us Ladies Who Tech girls are quite a rowdy bunch. LOL) As you can see, CES isn't just about high tech items and futuristic gadgets. It's also about ladies, who are consumers, who make the decisions about what to buy in the home. And we sorta know a thing or two when it comes to technology and what works well. Special thanks to Clever Girls Collective for the invitation!

Yesterday, I worked on my personal vision board for the New Year. I have blogged about creating vision boards before to help channel and manifest your goals and dreams. The saying goes, if you think it, see it, then you achieve it, so a vision board is a fabulous way to make things happen. I created a vision board last year for the first time and many of the items on the board came to pass. I am hoping the same will be true in 2012 as well. Here is a video that I created which teaches you how to make a vision board step-by-step. It's quick and easy, and I hope that it encourages you and helps you make your own. My daughter began dance and cheer once a week at her school, and they had their first recital after having six one hour classes. The result was a bunch of incredible cute girls dancing to Katy Perry's Firework. Since I had my trusty Xoom with me, I used it to record their dance routine. The result is a crisp video that has great sound and video quality. I don't think I could've gotten this great of a video picture with my Flipcam. I am really impressed with the video on my Xoom. Check out the video and see for yourselves. My daughter is the one in the back in the grey sweater and pink tights. She also makes sure to end in a very diva-like way. Like mom like daughter! I have been trying to upload a video of my interview with Style Expert Lloyd Boston since around 8pm yesterday. And as of 9am this morning, I have been unsuccessful. :( The video (which is really an audio file and picture of Lloyd Boston since we did the interview over the phone last Thursday), is only about 8 minutes in length and was created and edited in iMovie. It's an m4v file which is a common file used on YouTube. I am not sure why I am having the issue---it uploads but fails to process each time. And the one time it did finally process and was completed, I deleted it, thinking it was another video that failed to upload (insert profanity HERE). My plan was to bring you guys the interview this morning, but at this rate, it's looking the video won't be uploaded until like Christmas or New Year's. I am so frustrated right now. As you were.... (sidenote: I even tried to upload it to Vimeo and it's been FAILing there too. Got me wondering if it's my Internet connection or what have you) Console me please!
