Read More →TweetI have a love/hate relationship with Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise. I LOVE to hate them. In any event, the Real Housewives of Atlanta are my guilty pleasures followed by the Real Housewives of New York. BUT thanks to a crazy last season of Real Housewives of New Jersey, they are quickly moving up my “favorite” roster. Much has been said about Teresa Guidice and her financial problems and moving hairline, but she knows how to get people talking. And matriarch Caroline Manzo always keeps it real as the Camella Soprano of her family brood. Here are a few pictures of Teresa and Caroline at a RHONJ meet and greet event in Florida on 12/16. What do you think? Photo credit: Wireimage/Getty Images ...

The reality series, which follows house-flipper, interior decorator, designer, consultant, boss, and obsessive-compulsive ridden Jeff Lewis and his small crew of employees as they make Los Angeles’s homes that much beautiful, has become a guilty pleasure of mine. For those of you who may not watch ‘Flipping Out’, this may sound a bit boring to you, but to diehards like myself, ‘Flipping Out’ is good television. Snarky Jeff Lewis is the man you love to hate and he runs a tight ship. So much so that you cringe when he continuously verbally abuses his staff of employees. I have no idea how they are able to work under those conditions, but Jeff also proves to be an old softy by providing ‘happy hour’ drinks during work time and even bought his housekeeper of 11 years a car. Yes, Jeff Lewis isn’t all that bad. ...

There was a lot of buzz in the urban community about these wives, so I had to see for myself the madness and the mayhem surrounding these divas from the Peachtree state. Like many others, I became entrenched in these women’s lives as they cursed each other out, fought, clawed, and pulled wigs. It was must see TV alright. After becoming a fan of RHOA, I began watching the other installments of the series, which included Orange County (the flagship), New York, and later, New Jersey. Then I began to see a pattern here. TheseĀ are not real housewives at all. They are poor representations of women who run their homes as well as juggle their careers. When I look at these so-called housewives (which many aren’t because they are not even married), I ...

How I hate that I have been dragged into the tomfoolery and foolishness that is The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but these spoiled and out of touch Peaches keep the entertainment going week after week. Between their cat fights, supposed “careers”, biographies, failed fashion shows, flaming gaydom, screeching vocals, and synthetic weaves/wigs, I am hooked. But of course when I really think about it, it’s just a waste of time. Bravo has us by the chi-chis with this episodic drama, but really, what does this show really say about us Cubicle Chicks, the ebony and/or other than white divas doing it on the daily in our prospective businesses or industries? Is it funny that we are being portrayed as slightly less than desperate housewives who try to like the fabulous life when in reality, our homes are being foreclosed on and we are living check to check like everyone ...
