TweetThe following blog post is a personal introspective from my weight loss files and I try to do better by my body as well as my soul by eating healthier and exercising. Each week I will discuss my roadblocks and setbacks, triumphs and breakthroughs, and other random items as it relates to reaching my overall weight loss goal. I know this is a play on words that could mean something positive, but in this instance, it does not. After getting on my high horse and vowing to lose weight for good this time, I have lost a meager 7 pounds. After 2 months, 7 pounds is horrible. I have tried for real this time thinking that I was going to end up victorious with a slamming body and a pair of size 7 jeans, but I haven’t even made a dent in the weight I was planning to lose. Thirty-five pounds was ...

Each week I will discuss my roadblocks and setbacks, triumphs and breakthroughs, and other random items as it relates to reaching my overall weight loss goal. This past week has been great were my weight loss is concerned. One of the improvements I am seeing in the way that I eat is that I am learning what triggers my overeating. Eating out is definitely something that leads me into temptation, so that is something I have been trying to stay away from. When I have eaten out this week, I think about what I want and how it could effect my progress—eating something too high in calories and/or fat could cause a downward spiral. So far, I like ...

Each week I will discuss my roadblocks and setbacks, triumphs and breakthroughs, and other random items as it relates to reaching my overall weight loss goal. I am not ashamed of these curves. I like my body. I love my breasts, my hips, my thighs. I especially love my thighs. I can honestly say that they are thicker than a Snicker without any jiggle—I have the thighs of a Serena Williams without working out. I’ve always had these powerful legs, ask my dad who used to play who is strongest by putting our feet together as we lay across the floor and try to bend the other one’s legs. I always bent his and he tried like the ...

TweetWeek One As you may have read over the last few days on my blog and in my tweets, I am starting a new diet and healthy eating plan. I don’t have many problems losing weight when I diet, but I do have problems sticking to a good regimen. I start out the gate like a stallion and end the race dead last. I keep trying to visit what I am doing wrong so I won’t repeat it this time, and one thing that I noticed that when I am watching my weight, I don’t have much support. I reached out to a friend who is also dieting and we both decided to be ‘Diet Buddies’. Simply put, a ‘Diet Buddy’ is when you have someone in your corner to communicate with and connect with while dieting. This is the person you check in with on a daily basis, sharing ...

Tweet…and I was doing so good. This spring, I lost almost 30 lbs by watching what I ate and exercising. I felt better and had more energy. I was sharper on my toes and slept better at night. All was going well. And then summer crept up and I gained it all back. My summer was a crazy one. I reverted back to my old habits due to the fact that I was attending so many events, it was hard to stay on my eating regimen. I went back to drinking sodas, eating after 8pm, all of the things that I swore I wouldn’t do. No excuses. I was dedicated and fell off the effing wagon. There, I said it. Last night while doing my hair, I took a look at myself in the mirror and felt so disgusted with myself. I immediately stepped on the scale and saw that ...

TweetJennifer Hudson brought tears to my eyes during Dreamgirls and has come a long way from singing on cruise ships and singing as a contestant on American Idol. Jennifer is a bonafide superstar with an Academy Award under her belt. She is now also a mother of a baby boy, David Jr., and the spokesperson for Weight Watchers after shedding pounds she gained from her pregnancy. J-Hud is also a survivor after losing her mother and nephew to murder in 2008. Jennifer continues to work on her craft and share her gifts and talents with the world. She is a Cubicle Chick because despite adversity and sadness, she continues to move forward with positivity and grace, never letting anything stop her from her dreams. Now that she is a mother, Jen has remained focused and fabulous, two qualities Cubicle Chicks must possess. Juggling all of her commitments while staying steadfast ...

TweetA few days ago, I stepped on the scale and almost had a heart attack. I have packed on way too many pounds this winter and the buck must stop here. No longer will I be talking about wanting to make a change, I WILL make a change! I am by no means obese but I do not like the numbers that welcomed me when I looked on the scale. As a daughter of a diabetes sufferer, weight is a very strong component to fighting this disease. Being overweight can cause diabetes and various other ailments and symptoms. I refuse to suffer from things I can easily treat with diet and exercise. I have blogged about losing weight before many times. But this time, ladies and gentlemen, I won’t just blog and write about it, I will practice what I preach. Starting today, I am going to begin the TCC ...
