I am always on the hunt for books that can help improve my relationships. While perusing the web, I came across the book, “How Not to Marry the Wrong Guy–Is He “the One” or Should Your Run?” written by Anne Milford and Jennifer Guavain, MSW, LCSW. The title alone was enough to pique my interest.
This book serves as a “guide to living happily ever after”. And it is needed. Many people (myself included) have taken part in relationships and marriages that aren’t the best choices for us. In our quest to be solidified in a perfect union, fools rush in and we make decisions with our head and not our heart. How to Not Marry the Wrong Guy serves as a how-to when it comes to being wise when it comes to love.
One of the authors, Anne Milford, wrote the book after doing research about relationships. She also canceled her own wedding in 1992 five months before the nuptials, conceding that she had made the wrong choice for a husband. In this book, she recounts her own marriage “faux pas” as well as recounts from real-life stories by women who got married to the wrong man or who also called off their wedding.
The book is written in a very casual and engaging manner which causes you as the reader to delve deep into your own choices and decisions when it comes to love. It also tackles these important subjects: the reasons, the signs, the feelings, the breakup, and the right guy.
Say what you want about relationship books, this isn’t your ordinary book in that genre. It is a realistic guide and approach to finding Mr. Right.
