Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor in Liz and Dick: Will You Watch?

Am I the only person on the face of this earth that is rooting for Lindsay Lohan?

I certainly hope not. Despite her antics off-screen, Lindsay has proven in the past that she has the chops to be a great actress. She does need to concentrate on mending her public persona and work on getting roles that can showcase her immense talent. Here’s hoping that her latest project, Liz and Dick, will be her road to redemption.

Lindsay and Liz Taylor have a lot on common. Both started in Hollywood as child actresses. Both has had issues with drugs and alcohol.  Both ladies are talented in their own right. So I am really expecting Lindsay to embody the woman that is Elizabeth Taylor in this new film.

I must admit, however, that Liz’s shoes are a tall order for Lohan. She has been coined the most beautiful woman in the world. And, Liz Taylor, despite her problems, was known as an amazing actress of our time.

A few weeks ago, the trailer for the Lifetime film Liz and Dick, was released, and received lukewarm reviews. And while the jury is still out on the actual validity of the film, I must admit, Lindsay sure looks a lot like Liz in these scenes (actor Grant Bowler who plays Liz’s husband also looks and sounds a lot like Richard Burton).

Liz and Dick will premiere on the Lifetime cable network on November 25th at 9pm EST/8pm CST. I, for one, will be glued to my television on premiere night, and hope that with all of this publicity, there will be a strong film behind it.

What do you think of Lindsay Lohan portraying the great Elizabeth Taylor. Will you be tuning in to see Liz and Dick?

I’d like to say something positive about LL. But she makes it incredibly hard.
No, I probably won’t watch because she’s really not a good actress. Even from the clip you can hear how her voice has been destroyed by cigarettes and Lord knows what else.
I don’t think this movie will help her career
