Vlog: Lions, and Tigers, and Migraines, Oh My!

Lions, and Tigers, and Migraines, Oh My!

As promised, here’s another vlog post in my Digital Debutante Video Series. This time, I am discussing a medical condition that I have been suffering from since was a pre-teen. For over 20 years, I’ve been experiencing debilitating migraines that are so painful, sometimes it incapacitates me and renders me helpless. I can’t do anything but try to sleep it off, and even then, it’s painful even to lay my head down on the pillow.

I have been on every migraine medication known to man; sometimes the medication works at the beginning, and then stops working when I’ve been using it for awhile. Other times, it has horrible side effects or makes me feel even worse. I’ve also tried a few natural remedies as well. I’ve had a little help controlling my migraines, but nothing long-term. I’ve even thought about signing up for one of the migraine studies here in St. Louis to see if they could help me.

Check out my latest video below, as I am appealing to anyone who also suffers from migraines or knows someone who does. I would like to know of remedies, either natural or medicinal that can help alleviate my migraine pain. And if you just want to lend me a concerned and friendly ear, I will take that as well! 🙂

For my blog subscribers and feed readers, you can view the video HERE.

If you have any suggestions on migraine remedies, please leave a comment below or on the vlog itself. I would appreciate it!

Sorry to hear that you’re battling migraines 🙁 I’ve had problems with them for a long time too, but for the most part they’re under control now. I went to St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute, and I really liked their approach to finding a treatment that would work. They make sure that they explore holistic options as well as what kind of prescription drugs might be able to help.

*Side note, I know that you mentioned taking topamax. That has worked great for me for several years until Walgreens changed manufacturers without telling me. I started getting migraines again daily! If you look into different topamax manufacturers, you’ll find several forums of people complaining that some don’t work as well as others.

I am sorry to hear that you suffer from migraines. I do as well but if I am able to take my medicine for them upon first signs of symptoms (nausea usually hits me first) then the migraine doesn’t seem to affect me as badly but if I don’t catch it in time consider me out of commission for at least a day or two. Hopefully there will be more research done on them in the near future & better ways for all of us to not have to be in so much pain!
