My Word for 2020 Is….

It's that time of the year when everyone is sharing their word for the upcoming year. It took me awhile, but I've finally found mine.

2020, ya’ll! Years ago, that seemed like it was so far away, and now 2020 is here. Still no flying cars, but technology has us literally living our best lives.

Everyone has been sharing their word for 2020, and I’ve been pretty hesitant about it, until now. Last year, I struggled to find a fitting term, and that was a fail.

When trying to come up with one word as mantra that could best sum up my 2020 manifesto, there were several words I considered, but this one truly was the best fit and the most accurate—prosperous.

My word for 2020 is prosperous.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the definition of prosperous is:

  1. Auspicious; Favorable
  2. Enjoying a vigorous and healthy growth; Flourishing

I wanted a word that represented promise, fruitfulness, viability, health, security, strength, happiness, joy, and wealth.

Many a word came to mind but only one was everything that I wanted 2020 to encompass—prosperous.

How will I apply the word prosperous to my life in 2020? Here are a few ways:

I will be selective

I affirm that money, positivity, and happiness will flow to me. I will attract good things, and therefore, good things will happen. But all of that won’t happen if I say yes to everything that comes my way. Being selective is key to be able to accept and receive the things that are for ME.

It's that time of the year when everyone is sharing their word for the upcoming year. It took me awhile, but I've finally found mine.

I will bless others

Prosperity will flow to me, so it is my duty to pass that onto others. I will sow seeds into people, plant and water what is needed, and be a support to those who need my help. To be blessed, one must be a blessing.

I will create

Creating products, books, podcasts, and other things for my brand will help me be prosperous. I must to do the work and utilize and share my skills to help others solve problems. Doing all of this will help me be prosperous.

I will make smart money decisions

Being prosperous means making sound (and intelligent) and wise money decisions. I will save, I will invest, and I will try not to make any impulse buying decisions that I will regret later.

Here’s to 2020 being a banner year for us all, no matter what word you choose. But also remember this–only you can define your year, no one else. Take charge and step into your greatness, and don’t be afraid. 2020 is going to be the best year yet!
