Outshine: Work from Home Checklist for Success #SnackBrighter

Work from Home Checklist for Success #SnackBrighter

Outshine’s Work from Home Checklist for Success is a must for WAHMS.

Working from home has its challenges. Because there aren’t the same type of boundaries that apply in the office, it can be difficult to stay effective and efficient. Working in the same environment that we live in makes is nearly impoosible to keep normal work hours, and yet we thrive and grow our businesses despite the negatives. For many of us, it allows us to be active parents and spouses showing flexibility while taking care of our families. As a work at home mom now for five years, I can’t see myself going back to working in a traditional environment again.

Back in April while at the Mom 2.0 Summit, I spent some time at the Outshine booth getting to know about their brand. Made with real and fresh fruit and veggies, Outshine Bars are super yummy and perfect for a midday work snack—plus you can feel good about giving them to your kiddos as well.

Work from Home Checklist for Success

And since Outshine is the official Work from Home snack, I’m sharing their Work from Home Checklist for Success that you can apply to your life:

Create an official office

Yes, you are working from home, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t haver a dedicated work space. In order to be organized and effective, having an official office or work area is key. If you don’t have an extra room in which to create an office, utilize extra space in your living room, dining area, or even bedroom. Use space saving furniture to optimize the space.

Define your dress code

To get dressed or not to, that is the question. While I enjoy being able to make my own schedule and wear what I want, I am usually in business casual clothing when working from home. Having on clothing that is still office friendly makes me feel good, and therefore, I work better. It has also helped when I get an email to be on Huffington Post Live as a fill in or on TMZ. I am already dressed and I am ready to go—you never know who is going to call.

Maximize the lunch hour

Make sure that you set aside a lunch hour to recharge. Step away from your work and enjoy a healthy lunch, just as you should if you were working in an office. You deserve a break.

Prep for a productive day

Proper preparation prevents poor performance. Having a plan is key, especially when you are working from home and your attention can run amok in many different directions. Have a daily schedule that allows you to create habits that will cause you to work effectively and efficiently.

Choose a refreshing snack

Make sure to take breaks when working from home and choose snacks that can help you power through your day. Outshine Bars are wonderful snack options that are GMO free and hit the spot. You can also select superfoods like peanuts which provide natural energy.

Thanks for introducing me to this snack. I have a horrible habit of grabbing something unhealthy mid-morning.

I am so glad I came across Outshine at Mom 2 Summit. I’ve been using them as an afternoon pick me up—they work well and are better for me than coffee.
