In order to meet your goals and conquer them consistently, you have to know what they are. You also have to see them. People who visually see their goals daily are more likely to complete them on time. So visual cues are important for success personally and professionally.
Recently, I created my own Rotating Goal List with items that I already had around the house. I often kept my goals in my planner, but unless opened when I’m working, it was hard to see in my home office. The ability to be able to see them in front of me all of the time was something I desperately needed—so the hanging clipboard was perfect.
All you need is a clipboard (or frame or other board that can be hung on the wall), paper, pens and/or markers, sticky notes, and a pushpin or nail for hanging.
Simply create your DIY Rotating Goal List using the post it notes as your “visible goals”. Once your goal is complete, you can even write a cute message underneath your goal as a “reward”.
The purpose of the Rotating Goal List is to keep it updated weekly. Create one board for your personal and one board for your professional, if you’d like. You can even have a Family Rotating Goal List to help encourage one another throughout the week.
Once you create your Rotating Goal List template (the actual body of the list), you can use it over and over. Just apply new sticky notes and write down your new goals. Get the kids involved by having them help you make the sheets by using art supplies that you already have at home.
Want to bypass the “art” part? Here’s a Rotating Goal List Template that you can use (click here). All you need to do is add the sticky notes and title.

This is a great strategy – I think I need to try something like this at home. I especially like the reward messages under the sticky notes – brilliant! Thanks for sharing.

I am definitely going to try this. I may even lay out monthly and Quarterly goals, as well. And I have a nifty whiteboard calendar that I can play with…. Hmmmmmm.

Indeed. You can use the sticky notes on the white board too and use it as your Goal List.
