A Trip to the St. Louis Zoo

When my daughter brought home a permission slip for her to go to the St. Louis Zoo , I knew that I also wanted to attend as well. I haven’t been to the zoo in years and I thought this would be a great opportunity to spend time with my daughter and with her classmates. Little did I know that it would also be an opportunity to have fun in a wonderful learning environment!

We left the school after lunch and made out trek by school bus to Forest Park where the St. Louis Zoo is located. If you haven’t heard, the St. Louis Zoo is one of the few zoos in the entire world that has free admission to all guests. It is also one of the best zoos in the United States and is housed inside of one of the biggest and best parks in America, Forest Park.

I took a few photos of my daughter and her classmates as we perused the zoo. We did not have time to see everything, however, because we took a class first which allowed the kids to learn about adaptation and habitats. I even learned a thing or too!

Arriving at school and getting ready for the field trip!

My daughter wasn't sure if she wanted to touch the owl.
Not a good picture of a hissing cockroach. I didn't want to get too close.

Grizzly bear. He kept moving in circles as if he were upset. We didn't stay long! LOL.
