February is American Heart Month, and I’ve partn February is American Heart Month, and I’ve partnered with @MedIQCME and Duke Health to raise awareness about atrial fibrillation (AFib), also known as irregular heartbeat which affects 12 million people. My father was diagnosed with AFib and my family has a history of this condition, so I do my best to learn as much as I can about it.

I’ve learned that when the atrium’s squeezing becomes irregular, blood doesn’t flow as smoothly through the heart and clots can form. Those clots can travel to the brain, disrupting the oxygen supply and causing a stroke. People with AFib are at approximately 5 times greater risk for stroke than those with regular heartbeats. Stroke is a leading cause of death and also of serious, long-term disability. It is essential to get to a hospital quickly if you suspect a stroke in yourself or others.Learn the acronym FAST to recognize the signs of stroke:

F = Face. Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?

A = Arms. Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?

S = Speech. Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is the speech slurred or strange?

T= Time. If you see any of these signs, call 9-1-1 right away.

Take this survey (link in bio) for the chance to win 1 of 5 $100 VISA gift cards—takes less than 10 minutes.

Thanks, @mediqcme, and Duke Heart. Supported by an educational grant from the Bristol Myers Squibb and Pfizer Alliance.

Cube Giveaway: Starbucks Find the Roast You Love Most Gift Box

Whether you are a Cubicle Dweller, a stay at home mom, a part-timer, or in an office with a prime view, you probably all have one thing in common—your appreciation for Starbucks coffee. I too was hit by the Starbucks bug years ago and found myself visiting the coffee cafe sometimes twice a day to get my fix. It truly made my day!

I am personally a fan of the Caramel Macchiatto with extra caramel drizzle and one shot of espresso (I can only take one shot, don’t laugh). It gives me the extra boost I need to get through the day, but unfortunately, due to my new diet, I haven’t had one in awhile. I am hoping to find other alternatives at Starbucks to get my coffee fix, but are low calorie.

Starbucks is a business I think we can all appreciate, and they’ve made a simple cup of joy exciting and delicious. So in appreciation of their customers and fans, they are introducing the Find the Roast You Love the Most Sweepstakes. And you can win a Find the Roast You Love Most Gift Box right here on my blog.

To enter to win, all you have to do is comment below and let me know what it is you love about Starbucks coffees. You also must follow me on Facebook. That’s it! The giveaway is open to U.S. residents only, void where prohibited. This giveaway closes at the end of business on April 30th, and one lucky winner will be chosen t random.

And if you want to win a trip to Seattle, home of the Starbucks Coffee chain, for you and three of your friends so you can personally having a Starbucks tasting experience, you can enter the Find the Roast You Love Most Sweepstakes. Visit  www.starbucks.com/sweeps to enter once a day. Or use a smartphone to snap a photo of the “Find the Roast You Love Most” sweepstakes QR code. Easy, breezy!

Now, tell me. How do you like your Starbucks coffee?

I also love how friendly the Starbucks employees are. I’ve had great, fun conversations with so many. They create a creat atmosphere in the stores.
