Can you believe it? It is almost that time of the year once again! The kids may be enjoying the summer, but back to school season is coming soon. It’s time to get ready!
Shopping for back to school can be expensive, especially if you have more than one kid in school. It helps to be able to save a little bit by knowing the 2019 Sales Tax Holiday Dates so you can get what’s needed without breaking the bank.
Sales Tax Free holidays occur in many states, often around Back to School time to help parents with the cost of BTS shopping. In most instances, it takes place over a weekend or two to three day time span. You can purchase items like clothing, school supplies, and some tech like computers and laptops without paying sales tax. This can really help when purchasing big ticket items (and if you don’t have a child, you can still get the discount on these items).
Please check out my list of 2019 Sales Tax Holidays by State, as it gives you the dates in your state, what is covered, and more. In some states, this includes things for your home as well.
States like California, New York, Illinois, and Georgia do not have Sales Tax Holidays.
