May 2nd-6th Is Teacher Appreciation Week 2011

As a parent of two, the educational process is most important to me. The schools and teachers in which I entrust my children with play a pivotal role in the development and future of my kids, and I do my best to show my appreciation to those that teach my children on a daily basis.

May 2nd through May 6th is Teacher Appreciation Week. It is a time when we should show our gratitude to those that teach our children and acknowledge that wonderful thing that they do everyday, which plant seeds of knowledge within our youth.

Show your children’s teachers appreciation by purchasing a small gift or token of their hard work. A cute mug or bookmark or card would a go a long way in showing your child’s teacher that you are grateful for all of the work you do.

Tuesday, May 3rd is Teacher Appreciation Day, so make sure your child brings a token of their appreciation to their teacher.

Teacher Appreciation Week is not just designated for children’s teachers. Higher learning educators and other type of instructors are included in this group. Even if it is just a simple thank you to your Professor or instructor for doing a job well done, this would be appreciated by them.

Teachers are such an important part of the educational system. It is up to us to demonstrate our appreciation and gratitude. Make sure you acknowledge Teacher Appreciation Week!

I remember some wonderful teachers I had as a child, they (and the not-so-wonderful ones) helped make me who I am today. My son's school has something planned for each day next week, wearing certain colors on certain day, suggestions for small gifts each day, etc. Each year we go through this (since daycare even, before Kindergarten) I sit down and write a note with general appreciation, plus a few things specific she (or he, but they've all been female so far) has done to help my son. I give this on the last day, with a pan of homemade brownies or something so she will have them for the weekend.
