My now 18 year old son loves to bring up the fact that I made him write reports and do research on Dr. King when he was younger. He couldn’t just stay at home and play video games all day. We utilized the day to promote learning more about Dr. King’s life and all of the things he did to spread peace amongst everyone.

Today marks the celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr., and his ‘Dream’ of all of us co-exisiting in society as equals and as one. It’s important for me to help instill dreams and goals for my children, so they grow up knowing that with hard work and determination, anything can be in their reach.
Today is a day of remembrance for civil rights activist and humanitarian, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. If he were still alive today, he would’ve celebrated his eighty-second birthday on January 15th.
