Get to Know the Bleeding Heart Project

The art of social networking has afforded me the opportunity to meet many people that I wouldn’t have otherwise met. Last year, I had the pleasure of meeting my online friend Raijean in person during Blogging While Brown in June and again when I later visited Chicago in September. She is a fab and fashionable young lady with a growing fashion website and an even bigger heart. Earlier this week, I received information about her new cause, the Bleeding Heart Project, and I wanted to share it with you.

The Bleeding Heart Project is an organization devoted to educating and making people aware of heart disease. It is the leading cause of death in our country, and is something that is not discussed as widely as it should be.

Raijean started the project after being diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy and Congestive Heart Failure at 28 years of age. Raijean’s heart was only working at 25% and caused many symptoms, most she attributed to being tired and out of shape. Since being diagnosed, Raijean has had several surgeries and hospital stays, and she now wants to dedicate her time to help young people learn about heart health and heart disease—it doesn’t just strike older persons or the elderly. Heart disease does not discriminate.

I hope that you will get to know more about the Bleeding Heart Project and become a supporter of Raijean’s new organization. As a daughter of a parent who suffers from heart disease, I feel that being a part of the organization and spreading the word about the Bleeding Heart Project is the least I could do.

Please visit Raijean’s Bleeding Heart Project and also become a fan of it on Facebook. You can also show your support for the Bleeding Heart Project by purchasing a Bleeding Heart Project t-shirt.

Stay tuned to The Cubicle Chick as I will be bringing you more information and updates about the Bleeding Heart Project. I also hope to attend Raijean’s first event for her organization that she is planning for next month.

If you have been affected by heart disease, please take the time to share it with the Bleeding Heart Project.

No problem, Raijean, I think the organization is wonderful and I am honored to be a part of it. My father suffers from hear disease so it’s a cause that is close to my heart.
