What is your favorite Christmas memory? I have so many, but one that mainly sticks out is when my son and daughter were 12 and 2, and we celebrated our first Christmas in our new home. I elaborately decorated our house and filled it with lights and festive decor. I also hosted a Christmas Eve dinner party, which quickly became a tradition of ours for years and years to come. It had been a good year, so we got everything on their list and then some. My son still talks about this particular Christmas, and even though my daughter doesn’t quite remember it, I took plenty of pictures to showcase those memories.

When it comes to making memories at Christmas, watching movies has to be something on the list. Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has nine new original movies premiering throughout #MiraclesofChristmas, including “Heaven Down Here,” premiering on Thursday, December 14th. “Heaven Down Here” stars Krystal Joy Brown, Tina Lifford, Juan Riedinger, Richard Harmon, and Phylicia Rashad.

Here’s the synopsis:
Inspired by Mickey Guyton’s song of the same name, “Heaven Down Here” tells the story of four disparate people who find themselves stranded in a local diner on Christmas Eve when a snowstorm hits the town. Imami is a widowed mother of two who’s having trouble making ends meet and reluctantly agrees to work the Christmas Eve shift, where she clashes with her boss Dan, who doesn’t exactly embody the Christmas spirit. Felix is a local pastor desperately trying to secure food for parishioners while his faith is challenged by his son’s alienation. Clara is a hospice nurse with an obstinate patient and whose daughter is moving away, causing her to question her place in this world. Throughout the evening, these four bicker, bond and unwittingly provide each other with the answer to their respective prayers.
Making memories around this time of year is essential, and movies like “Heaven Down Here” spotlight why. You never know what someone else is going through, so being able to make the most of your situation is. Some years may be better, but we all have to find joy during holidays and all year.

Join me on Thurs. Dec 14 at 8/7c, and let’s live-tweet and watch “Heaven Down Here” together on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You can win some amazing participation prizes, so I hope to “see” you there! I’ll bring the wine!
