Living in a technological world also means making sure that your data and information isn’t only safe and secure, but is also available when you need it should something happen to your computer, smartphone, tablet, etc. I am someone who is constantly backing up my data into the cloud on a daily basis. Because of the nature of my work and what I do, I need to be able to access files, information, pictures, etc. on the fly, so “backing it up” is something I do without even thinking. But because not everyone is like me, there’s World Backup Day. Held on March 31st, it encourages you to back up your data as to not become an April Fool.
There are plenty of ways to backup your data. As I mentioned earlier, I use the cloud, which enables me to backup multiple devices and sync them into one safe space (iCloud). You can also use an online service to backup your information to (Carbonite is one that comes to mind–FYI, I am not affiliated with them in any way). There are also external hard drives that you can utilize to store your information, and thumb drives work well too.
Started in 2012, World Backup Day was created to bring attention and awareness to the importance of backing up your data. You never know if one of your devices will become lost or stolen, so backing up your data on a regular basis ensures that if that happens, you will still have the information you need.
The goal of World Backup Day is to make sure we are all utilizing “technological insurance” just in case.

I was just clearing out some space on my devices because I need more space to back things up.
I have most of my devices on auto-backup just in case I forget. I am an OCD type of gal when it comes to backing up my devices. Perhaps I back up too often. LOL
