Moving Into a New Home Means One Thing: Redecorating!

We are less than 5 days away from moving into our new townhouse and I am so excited. I haven’t been enjoying the packing part, but I am so looking forward to the extra space. And with more space comes the opportunity for me to redecorate our home and make it something new and exciting for us all.

I have a lot of furniture, and I had to put a lot of it in storage when we downsized. It will be pretty neat to pull out this furniture that has been sitting dormant for over a year and try to make it new again. I also want to purchase some new pieces to mix in with the pieces that we already have to make it new and chic.

I am really looking forward to redoing my daughter’s bedroom. Her current bedroom is really an office that we converted into a bedroom for space sake, but now she will have a bigger room. We didn’t decorate her current room at all, and she is used to having a fun room that has been personalized for her, so I purchased her new bedding as well as new pillows and pink letters for her name in her room. I also want to purchase some paint to make her a chalkboard area on her wall so she can write on it and play school.

I also plan to purchase a new bed and headboard for my room (I am giving my current leather bedroom set to my son), so I will be visiting STL Beds to get something a little more feminine and dainty.

For the living room, we will be utilizing the same suede sofa and couch that we have now, but I do plan on sprucing it up with some colored pillows. I also plan on going thrifting to pick up a few new pieces to make what’s old new again.

The best part of moving is making your new space truly yours. In the next few weeks, I will be updating you with our progress with before and afters.

Who knows! Maybe I can give the folks at HGTV a run for their money!

Do you have any redecorating ideas? Please share!

Thank you girlie. I did a little bit of furniture shopping this evening and picked up a few things. I will also be going thrifting this weekend to find some decorative items. I will love the redecoration aspect of this move.

My ownly advice would be to re-purpose items before you replace them. I have some pieces that have easily moved from one room to another every single time I move LOL. I’m also infamous for “shoppig in my basement” to change things up (hubby tends to be a bigger shopper than I am, can you believe it?). Anyhoo … carry one and all the best. Congrats again.

This is exciting. I love decorating. I spent the last year and a half decorating the old house we bought. You know, you can make your headboard if you want. I’ve got a tutorial on my blog about how to do it.

I always have to remember not to buy too much because so many things can be re-used for various purposes. Paint is great for changing things and once you’ve lived in the space for a while you get ideas of what to do with it. I’d say you’ll still be changing stuff around in a year’s time.

You sounded so excited in your post. Hope you didn’t have any problems with your move. You’re probably redecorating now and putting your great ideas into action.

What a creative article! In addition to an insightful 1, too!

Thank you so much! People online barely publish that much in order
to produce truly outstanding content. I type of feel just like you
and https://stoffwechsel03.ch/uk-crime-rates/ are usually the only good content creators remaining.
    Just my opinion.
