As we get ready to usher in a new year full of more excitement, we wanted to share with you a list of Our Favorite Things of 2012.
Last week, many of us watched the sad farewell by former Today Show co-anchor Ann Curry, who tearfully told us she was moving on to another department at NBC News. Her departure was imminent and was broadcast via blogs and gossip rags almost a full two weeks before she anchored the Today Show for the final time.
I first became acquainted with Whitney Houston’s music in 1985 when my parents bought her first album. I can still see the album cover. Her short hair slicked back, natural makeup in place, glowing in an island-like backdrop. Peaches and mauves showcased her face, and she was simply stunning.
Back in April, I was contacted by a writer from Conde Nast, the company that publishes Glamour, regarding my blog post, My Boss Takes Credit for My Work. The writer asked me to tell the story behind my post and the example I gave in the piece, and after a few emails back and forth, I was told I may or may not be included in an upcoming issue of the glossy magazine.
When the news began to filter down that there was a devastating 8.9 earthquake in the early hours of the morning last Thursday, my heart went out to all the victims.
When I picked up my son Tuesday, he was all abuzz about details that a teacher at his school at Parkway North High had been in adult films previously.
