My List of 40 Things I Want to Do Before I Turn 40

My very good friend Kesha (aka Uncommon Chick) wrote a recent blog post called ‘My 40 Things Before Age 40 List’ which is comprised of a bucket list of 40 things she would like to accomplish before she turns the big 4-0. This inspired me to also create a list since, in 4 years, I will be hitting that huge milestone. Some folk say that 40 is the new 30 (because 30 is the new 20), so I am looking forward to embracing it rather than hide from it. I think when you reach 40, you organically begin to feel that you have a new lease on life.

So without adieu, here is my #40by40 List:

1. Travel to London and Tokyo

2. See my son graduate from college

3. Bring sexy back in a size 6/8

4. Finish my 2nd novel and have it printed by a major publishing house

5. Take my grandmother on a trip somewhere

6. Move to a warmer climate

7. Get enough guts to shave my head

8. Take my daughter to New York City

9. Watch someone close to me rise to the TOP!

10. Finally be completely happy with who I am

11. Have an over-the-top destination birthday party

12. Visit Boston and Philly

13. Buy a BMW

14. Learn patience

15. Become a yoga enthusiast

16. Attend New York Fashion Week

17. Create a fabulous home office

18. Go handgliding

19. Have another baby

20. Meet Oprah

21. Work for Oprah

22. Have a professional and stunning model shoot in L.A.

23. Learn the importance of being earnest

24. Repair damaged familial relationships (one in particular)

25. Have my Daddy be proud of me

26. Buy a summer home

27. Spend a Thanksgiving in a log cabin

28. Learn photography

29. Master a foreign language (any will do)

30. See Paris at night

31. Have no pimples on my face whatsoever!

32. Experience a destination spa for a full weekend

33. Teach everyone in my circle how to Dougie

34. Get a tummy tuck and breast lift

35. Be completely out of debt

36. See my Aunt get married

37. Hear the announcement that there has been a cure for cancer

38. Charter a private jet

39. Meet Janet Jackson

40. Make it BIG

My #sistertribe member Andrea also wrote out her 40 by 40 List HERE. It’s amazing what us girls want to do before we hit that critical milestone 🙂

So the ball is in YOUR court now. What is on your #40by40 list? I’m interested in knowing what you would include on your lists!

Nice! Why are 19 and 34 crossed out? I need to work on my list soon. #6 & #32 are also things I’d like to do.

Glammy, they are crossed out because if I do DO them, it will be before I turn 40. I am not totally convinced I want to do them though. Make sense? LOL

Are you sure you will be able to do all this in one birth? I need almost 200 years to complete half the list.
