As many of my repeat readers know, I am a faithful Blackberry user and enthusiast. I have been a RIM Blackberry user since 2006, and despite the “coolness” of an iPhone, I pledge to stay with the device that I like most. One of the cool features Blackberry is known for is BBM or Blackberry Messenger, which allows Blackberry users to connect to one another through instant messenger with the use of a pin that is assigned to each Blackberry device.
Cnectd works much the same way, but it allows users of different phone types to instant message one another. The app is currently available for Blackberry, iPhone, Nokia, and Android devices currently. You can chat, share images, locations, and it synchs with your Facebook updates.
I first learned about Cnectd on Twitter, and succumbed to the peer pressure of downloading the free app on my Bold. Currently, I only have one connect (hi Krissy 90220!), but I will see how it goes.
