5 Must Haves In Your Make-Up Bag—What’s In Your Bag?

I know that we all have our favorite make-up and beauty accessories that we cannot live without. These are the staples that we must have in our beauty arsenal no matter what. Simply put, the five items that you gotta have in your beauty bag to complete your look.

Many of you may use more than five must have items, but for me, there are five things that I must use before going out on a night on the town.

Here are my 5 must have beauty items:

Pressed Powder- I am addicted to pressed powder to set my look and to control shine. Last November, I began using foundation (I never used it before) but on days when I want a simple clean look without all the gunk, I use pressed powder. It’s a must have for me, especially since I have a t-zone oily area. The powder controls the shine and evens out my skin tone. My choice of pressed powder is Clinique’s Perfectly Real Compact Make-up.

Eyeliner- Eyeliner was the first make-up item I ever purchased. Ever since then, I have been addicted to wearing eyeliner. If I go anywhere, I usually will have some liner on top of my lid and the bottom of my eye. Black is my color of choice but I also dabble in blue, green, gold, and a few other colors. Stila Convertible Eye Color in Onyx is my favorite eyeliner. Goes on smooth and there is no need to sharpen. It also comes with a smudge brush and highlight color.

Lip Gloss- Lip gloss is a must have for most of us. I can go out bare faced but I have to have lip gloss on my lips. I have so many lip gloss colors, it’s pathetic! They range from department store cosmetic brands to drug store to beauty supply staples. Either way, with the a hint of lip gloss, all is well in the world.

Concealer- Before I was a fan of foundation, I was an advocate of concealer. It works best to cover those unsightly dark under eye circles and help with coverage of dark spots and uneven color. You have seen me blog numerous times about my love of Lancome’s Photogenic Concealer in Bronze, which has been discontinued for a few years. I’m still able to purchase new in the box for about $10.00 on eBay.

Mascara- I also just began using mascara regularly this past fall (I am a late bloomer, what can I say) and it has made all of the difference in making my eyes pop and completing my look. I have fallen in love with Clinique High Impact Mascara in black, and I love the way it makes my lashes long and full. I still have yet to try false eyelashes (I am scared to try) but Clinique’s mascara makes me look like I have them on!

So those are my 5 must haves for my make-up bag. What are your choices, ladies?

I can't live without my Great Lash by Maybelline mascara. Yes, I still love it. Sorry, but I have not found anything better than that and I've tried several department store mascaras. I'm waiting to get my hands on the Diorshow, but until then…..

The other four items in my make up bag are: blush (I use brands from both Mac and Nars), Mac's Mineralize Skin finish in Natural for a natural glowy look, lipgloss (I use several dazzleglasses by Mac, but my favorite is "girls night out. I actually will use any kind of neutral looking lipgloss) and my most recent must have (although I don't wear it everyday) is my foundation:Matte Velvet by Makeup Forever. Loves it!!!
