The 5 Most Fab on the 53rd Annual Grammy Red Carpet

Wow, there can be so much that can be said about last night’s 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, but what can’t be said is that is was lacking creativity in terms of fashion. The music industry’s most talented and fabulous paid homage to one another resulting in the most important night’s for music this year, and in doing so, the fashion elite made their presence felt on the red carpet.

For me, most of the looks for the evening OVERwhelmed. Of course everyone wanted to outdo, outshock (ala Gaga), and outshine one another, which resulted in a lot of subpar looks that may have rocked the world of avant garde but didn’t do much for the red carpet. But there were a few standouts that deserve mentioning as stellar red carpet frocks.

So without further adieu, here are my picks for the 5 Most Fab on on the 53rd Annual Grammy Award red carpet. And if you missed any red carpet looks, click HERE:

5. Rihanna

I went back and forth when it came to Rihanna as to whether I liked her peek-a-boo gown that showed off her gorgeous assets. The John Paul Gaultier creation looked stunning on television but underwhelmed in the photographs—but there was no denying that Rihanna was striking and fabulous on the red carpet and wore one of the most talked about gowns of the night. I must give props where props are due, and Rihanna looked absolutely amazing.

4. Kelly Osborne

Kelly has come such a long way fashion wise, I must say. And while I am not pleased with her blond colored hair (it seems to wash her out), her dress deserves a mention. Its lavender purple hue and ruffled embellishments with the belted waist lined sash made for a wonderful line that complemented her svelte figure. Nicely done by Tadashi Shoji.

3. Eva Longoria

Eva’s black and cream ensemble was basic but also very stunning from every angle. The black top with silk draping and bubble type of skirt was a delight to see on the red carpet—using textures and form to make a red carpet look work is always a good look.

2. Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer’s body is slamming, let me first say that. I love this look on her. Bolder than we are usually seeing on her, showing off her assets with a tight bodice and cinched in waist. I am also loving the multi-tiered bottom half of the dress and the Louboutins are always a good look. HAWT!

1. (TIE) Selena Gomez

I tweeted early in the night that Selena Gomez was probably one of the best dressed of the night on the red carpet and I was right. Her J. Mendel dress was just enough to show her fun and sexy side without being too over the top and revealing. Her hair and make-up were just right as well to compliment the look and had the right mixture of glam and fabulousness. Loved it!

1. Jennifer Lopez

Does this woman age? There are few people in this world more fierce or fab than Jenny Lo Lo. Her body is sick and her hair and make-up never disappoint. The heels, purse, accessories all work, and there are few chicks who are badd-er in the game. She sticks to what works—effortless in Versace, which is what she is known for (think green Grammy number in 2000).We see you Jennifer!

I didn’t see the arrivals…so I’m not sure who looked the best. I think most of these looks aren’t all that. That’s the best they could do?

I thought Rihanna dress was ugly for the record. Nice body though.

@afreshmusic, as I prefaced before, the fashion on the red carpet wasn’t as good as past years, too much shock and not enough HAUTE. But, these looks were the best of the best IMO. Rihanna was gorgeous, though. 🙂

Te red carpet was pretty blah. I loved J Lo, Jennifer Hudson looked great but her shoes look like they don’t fit.

J-Lo and also Mariah Carey are people who have looked nearly the same for years and still look good in Gucci and Versace.

Selena’s dress made her a little shorter looking. Something to lengthen her out would have been better. I am surprised her stylist let her go out like that.

    All really good choices. 😀

I really should have copied my comments from StylishCurves here but I’ll go in again. I like Rihanna but she could have come nude. She’s leaning more and more towards pole dancing status! Kelly looked great. Love myself some JHUde but those shoes were not the business (too small or something going on there). My vote goes to J Lo now that’s sexy, classy and sizzling all day every day 🙂
