It seems everywhere I go, people cannot get enough of Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s, the real life antics of a family owned restaurant based in St. Louis. The reality show has become the darling of Oprah’s OWN cable imprint, and is one of my favorite reality programs on TV. Miss Robbie and her family and employee crew make for good television, and the program is one of OWN’s highest rated series. Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s is returning for its 3rd season later this month.
We’ve gotten to know Miss Robbie, her son Tim, his fiancee Jenae, and her nephew Charles really well. We’ve seen the family overcome a lot of obstacles, including almost not being able to open their newest restaurant, Sweetie Pie’s Upper Crust, because of a bevy of issues. We’ve seen them rally around Jenae and Tim when their baby TJ was born many months premature. We’ve witnessed them fuss and fight and feud on camera, but we’ve also seen them come together when it was needed. Because as Miss Robbie says, “there ain’t nothing like family”.
This new season promises to be the best yet, as we learn what’s next for the family. The Upper Crust is open (check my review HERE), and we will see how everything is running behind the scenes so far at their newest restaurant. We will also see if Tim and Jenae will finally make it down the aisle (or set a firm wedding date), and if Charles will continue to drive everyone crazy or get serious about his future.
The new season of Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s begins Saturday, September 15th at 9pm, 8pm CST on OWN.
