2013 Oscar Preview: Governors Ball Menu and Red Carpet Predictions

The 85th Annual Academy Awards are almost here, and I cannot wait! As a red carpet enthusiast, celebrity chatterer, and glamour lover, the Oscars are the best awards show because it is when Hollywood pulls out all of the stops. One day, I hope to be able to attend the Oscars in some way—maybe as a correspondent on the red carpet? (hint hint). Anywho, this year’s Oscars will be filled with excitement. The rundown of nominees in terms of films is extraordinary, and it will be an amazing evening. I’ve got a few insights as to what people may be wearing on the 2013 Oscar red carpet as well as the fabulous menu celebrities will be noshing on during the 2013 Oscar Governors Ball.

Check out my preview of the 2013 Oscar Menu and Fashion Forecast below:

Wolfgang Puck has pulled out all the stops for this year’s menu. The spread includes Spring Rolls, Sushi, Smoked Salmon Oscars, Bacon Wrapped Dates, Kale salad, Shellfish…the list goes on and on.

Red Carpet Fashion Predictions

In terms of fashion, expect to see color, color, color. Celebrities will be bold with bright tones and subtle hues (think jewel tones and pastels). While we will see a little black and white on the red carpet, look for colors that pop and bring the wow factor.

44th NAACP Image Awards - ArrivalsKerry Washington at this year’s NAACP Image Awards

Also, expect manes to be worn long with soft curls, or even straight with side or middle parts (see Screen Actor’s Guild Awards). I think there will be less updo’s for the evening, since it can make some celebs look older and more matronly. Oh, and yes, bangs will also be in play. Even if they are the one night only, temporary clip-on kind. Smoky eye and red lippy will also be a factor on the red carpet.

I am looking forward to seeing Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron, Jessica Chastain, and Kerry Washington on the red carpet. These ladies will no doubt be bringing the heat and scorching up the runway. Other noteables include Nicole Kidman, Amanda Seyfried, and Naomi Watts (seen below).

11th Annual Visual Effects Society Awards - Arrivals

The 85th Annual Academy Awards will be broadcast live on ABC Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 7 EST/ 4 PST. Visit the official Oscars site to see the list of nominees or download the Oscar app. As always, TheCubicleChick.com will be bringing you the Oscar Red Carpet live on our site. See the photos of your favorite celebs up-close as soon as they walk the red carpet!
