5 Free Must Have Apps for Work-at-Home Moms

Being a work-at-home mom means you need to constantly juggle deadlines with diapers, play dates with prospects and meetings with menu planning.

Yes, life is busier than ever and you need all the help you can get. Enter the smartphone and the world of apps.

Your mobile phone, armed with the right apps, can be a lifesaver when you’re a work-at-home mom. That’s right.

5 Free Must Have Apps for Work-at-Home MomsHere are our top 5 free must have apps for work-at-home moms:

1. Dropbox

Out in the park and remembered you need to send a document to your client? Open Dropbox and you can access all the documents, files and folders on your desktop at home, right from your device. Dropbox is a cloud storage system that makes file sharing and accessibility super easy. Free for the basic version up to 2 GB but referring friends can get you additional storage for free. I currently have 15 GB storage on Dropbox, all free. Yes, it is my most favorite app, ever! Get it here.

2. Kindle

You need to read to keep your brain cells ticking. And no, bedtime books don’t really count. Kindle by Amazon makes it super-easy for you to read all those business books on the go. I flip open my smartphone when I’m waiting for my daughter to finish tennis lessons or drama class. By the end of the class, I’m filled with new information and exciting ideas. Get the app here.

3. Evernote

A work-at-home mother’s brain in a gadget. Period. I use Evernote for everything. Recording notes, jotting to-dos, bookmarking articles and posts, and more.  You can create notebooks for different categories or topics and then, simply file the relevant notes as and when you need it. Simple, easy and nothing forgotten, ever!  Get the app here!

4. Allrecipes

Working at home can often mean getting so absorbed in a project that you forget about dinner. But the family’s gotta eat. Allrecipes to the rescue. This app is my sanity saver on days when I forget to cook. Yes, it happens. Often. You can look for recipes by ingredient which means that when I just have bell peppers and tomatoes in the fridge, I can still whip up a decent meal. Get the app here.

5. Hootsuite

Finally, every work-at-home mother knows that social media is integral to her business but what do you do when you’re playing chauffeur or just want to relax with your littles? You use Hootsuite to update your social media profiles on the go! Quick and easy. Get the app here.

Very funny! I think all of these applications are good for anyone who does business on the go, not just working moms. But of course, my audience consists of many WAHMS so we like to spotlight tips and info that will help them run their businesses. Thanks for commenting 🙂
