Change Your Game: How I Switched It Up For a Better Me #CYSCYG

Change Your Game Simple Mobile

Two weeks ago, I shared with you how SIMPLE Mobile® wants to know how you Change Your Game by having you upload an original video expressing your skills (click here to read more about that plus how you can win a tablet or smartphone for sharing your video). I am all for this topic because I have had to Change the Game in many ways to switch things up for the betterment of me and my family. My story is one of courage and heart, for it took a lot for me to give up everything and roll the dice on my dream. But at the end of the day, I am a much happier person, and I am seeing my dreams coming true each and every day because I followed my heart.

Let me rewind for a moment. Before I started this blog and became a full-time blogger, content creator, and personality, I was working in a Corporate job in the HR and Property Management field. While I enjoyed some of the perks that came along with my job, it didn’t bring me true fulfillment. It was a means to an end, and quite truly, I was stuck professionally. My job paid well, but the probability that I would move up within the company was rather low. I wanted something—-more. Then once the economy took a hit, so did my position, and I was laid off and eventually terminated.

I was devastated by this because I always had a job. I started this blog as a hobby two months before I was let go, so I started to considering how to turn it into a business. Talking about Career, Family, Work Life Balance, Everyday Tech, and more was something that brought me passion. I loved to write and share my opinions and views on stuff, but it was unchartered territory. How could I make this into a business that also paid my bills and gave me joy?

With a lot of blood, sweat, and tears (and many hours working), I was able to turn my passion into a business that is able to sustain my family. Looking back on it, I don’t know why I was so nervous about doing it. It was just what I needed, and it was the perfect time to get in the social media and blogging business.

Almost four years later, I am running my blog successfully, working with brands and partners that are a wonderful fit for me and my audience, and speaking about the wonders of social media and Work Life Balance. All because I took the first step so I could Change the Game. I haven’t looked back!

Not to say it’s been an easy road. There were a lot of sleepless nights, late bill payments, and downsizing. But it was all worth it. There is nothing else I would rather be doing that this!

So when it comes to time to Change Your Game, don’t doubt yourself. Surround yourself with supportive people and be confident in your talent and what it is you want to do. You got this!

Share how you Change Your Game by uploading a video here! And yes, you can win prizes, too!

Are you up for a game change? Do you have a talent or dream that SIMPLE Mobile can help push forward?

Simple Mobile is celebrating by changing the game for a few individuals on the verge of greatness.  Go to to www.ChangeYourGame.com and upload your video for a chance to win a tablet!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Simple Mobile. The opinions and text are all mine.
