There has been much said in the news and the media about fathers, especially dads of color. What we often hear are stories that are very negative and unsettling, and while there are those cases of fathers not doing their part, there are many more cases of dads who are amazing fathers for their children. As a woman who was brought up by both parents, my father was an intricate part of my life—he was an excellent father and role model and I don’t know where I would be without him. And The Chicklet’s father is a pretty good guy too—he is not only a father to our daughter, but he also was a dad to my now 20 year old son whom I had during a previous relationship.
There are plenty of dads who are stepping up to the plate doing an awesome job, and they often get overlooked. Which is why The Notorious POP campaign was created. To shine a light on dads, especially dads of color, who are being amazing fathers to their children while doing awesome things in the community. So in order to celebrate them, we want you to join us for the #NotoriousPOP Twitter Party taking place on Tuesday, April 29th at 8pm EST/7pm CST. Join a bevy of celebrity dads and participants who want to give props where props are due, and win some fabulous prizes. Here are more details:
I will be on hand during the party chiming in and tweeting as well. It is sure to be a good time, so make sure to join in for the festivities. To learn more, visit @TheNotoriousPOP on Twitter, and their official website The Notorious POP.
