Five Work Life Management Tips to Utilize This Fall

five-work-life-management-tips-to-utilize-this-fall

Read this to get some useful Work Life Management tips for the Fall season.

Fall is currently underway, and with the change of the season, we should also adapt our Work Life Management tools to help us stay focused. Too many times many of us are guilty of failing to adhere to the fact that our personal and professional lives must be calibrated with the turn of each season. In order to get the most out of our lives, one always has to be on top of their priorities and boundaries in order to be a success.

Priorities and boundaries are keys to living the optimum Work Life type of life. No longer can we call on balance to help us, as there’s no such thing. Instead, using a healthy Work Life Management regimen can help you get the best out of both of your worlds.

I’m sharing five work life management tips to utilize this fall, so that you work smarter, not harder.

Let’s get started.

Keep working at home during off times at a minimum

Your personal life should be a priority during off-work hours. In order to create this habit, nix working at home during off times unless its an emergency. Leave your work phone, tablet, laptop, etc. in another area so that you won’t be tempted to pull out work when you should be communing with your family. This will help you stay present and active in your family’s life, creating a stronger bond.

Use up your vacation and personal time

If you have a use it or lose it vacation and/or personal time policy, it’s time for you to use it up if you have time on the books. Use this time to take a quick trip or schedule a staycation with your family.

Spring Clean Your Office

Answer business emails during business hours

Say no to checking and sending business emails while at home after hours. When you make it a habit of doing so, people will begin to expect that you will answer. Your behaviors set the standard for what others should expect, so say no to this practice. Unless of an emergency, those emails can wait.

Adjust your work hours if needed

Because the days are shorter and there’s less daylight, you may need to adjust your work hours. If you are a woman, safety is of utmost importance. Leaving the workplace when it’s dark, or arriving before the sun has come up could cause issues.

Schedule downtime

When creating your daily schedule, make sure to pencil in some downtime. Whether it is time reading a good book, going to the spa, or simply meditating and spending time along, put it on your schedule so that it will become a priority.

Autumn is my favorite time of the year. Here’s to putting these Work Life Management tips into practice for a healthier, happier lifestyle.
