Favorite 5 Moments From Our Trip to Disney’s Magic Kingdom

When I asked my daughter what she wanted for her birthday, I was not prepared for her answer. She told me that she wanted to go to Disney World. At first, I wasn’t feeling her idea, but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to make it happen for her. She was turning nine and had never been to a Disney Theme Park yet. She was at a perfect age to enjoy everything that Disney had to offer, so I began working to make her dream come true.

I lived in Florida for 10 years prior to moving back to my hometown of St. Louis, so I was familiar with Orlando. I thought I could wrap in a trip to Disney World as well as visit the Tampa area where I used to live. My best friend still lives there and I hadn’t seen her in ages. Plus, she also had a daughter who wanted to also go to Disney World. So we made it a girls weekend of fun!

I can tell you that I read many blog posts and articles about Disney World. What to expect, what to do, what not to do. But nothing could compare us for the actual real thing. It is something that is describable, in a good way of course. It was definitely an experience of a lifetime for her as well as me.

We didn’t get to spend a lot of time at Disney—I didn’t want to pull The Chicklet out of school for too many days. But the two days we did spend there was absolutely amazing.

Here are my Favorite 5 Moments From Our Trip to Disney’s Magic Kingdom:

The Princess Birthday Girl

My daughter was turning nine and her dad has called her a Princess from the time she was born. So of course, I wanted to make sure while she was at Disney World, she was treated like the Princess she is. Disney did a fabulous job incorporating her birthday into everything that we did. She even got the opportunity to have dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming, her Wicked Stepmother and Stepsisters. A birthday fit for a princess!

Our Amazing Room at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort Royal Room

During our stay at Disney World, we stayed in the Port Orleans Riverside Resort which was alive and festive with Bayou motifs and designs. It really seemed like we were in the New Orleans of old and I enjoyed the property. Our Royal Room (which was in the Princess Tiana theme from the Princess and the Frog) was perfect for The Chicklet. She loved it!

The Parade

Every hour at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, they have a parade on the main street where you can see all of your favorite characters. The parade was the first thing we took in before hitting the rides and other sections of the park.

The Prerequisite Magic Kingdom Shots

You have to take a few prerequisite shots. You haven’t really done Disney World unless you take them!

Memories

The time I spent with my little one while at Disney World will always be one of my fondest memories of her childhood. What a time!

Thank you Disney World for the great time. We will never forget it!
