The Cubicle Chick Partners with Produce for Kids: Morning Appearance on WTVM

As a mom of a nine year old, I am always looking for ways to create healthy and enjoyable meals for my little one. I am blessed to have a child that enjoys eating fruits and veggies, as I understand not all kids are interesting in eating them. Produce for Kids (click here), an organization that shares helpful tips, tools, resources, and recipes that incorporate healthy produce, recently got me involved in their plight. I recently did a morning cooking demo segment on Columbus, Georgia’s News Leader WTVM, for the purpose of spreading the word about Produce for Kids as well as showing that eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring.

Below is the segment that was broadcast on Friday, October 4th. I was supposed to do two cooking demos from recipes on the Produce for Kids website. The first was a Pumpkin Pie Smoothie and the later was a No Bake Granola Bar recipe. What happened next was pure comedy and we ended up not having enough time for demos of both recipes. Despite that, however, it ended up being a fun segment.

For the full recipes, you can click here. You can also visit Produce for Kids to learn more and to get more meal ideas.

In addition, Produce for Kids has partnered with Publix supermarkets and Donors Choose (here) for Healthy Families, Helping Kids. When you purchase select fruits and veggies from Publix, those monies will go to Donors Choose to selected nutrition programs in local area schools. This is a wonderful way to eat right and raise money all while doing so in a healthy manner.

This campaign continues now through October 30th.

I am proud to be a part of Produce for Kids’ Publix campaign.
