February is American Heart Month, and I’ve partn February is American Heart Month, and I’ve partnered with @MedIQCME and Duke Health to raise awareness about atrial fibrillation (AFib), also known as irregular heartbeat which affects 12 million people. My father was diagnosed with AFib and my family has a history of this condition, so I do my best to learn as much as I can about it.

I’ve learned that when the atrium’s squeezing becomes irregular, blood doesn’t flow as smoothly through the heart and clots can form. Those clots can travel to the brain, disrupting the oxygen supply and causing a stroke. People with AFib are at approximately 5 times greater risk for stroke than those with regular heartbeats. Stroke is a leading cause of death and also of serious, long-term disability. It is essential to get to a hospital quickly if you suspect a stroke in yourself or others.Learn the acronym FAST to recognize the signs of stroke:

F = Face. Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?

A = Arms. Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?

S = Speech. Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is the speech slurred or strange?

T= Time. If you see any of these signs, call 9-1-1 right away.

Take this survey (link in bio) for the chance to win 1 of 5 $100 VISA gift cards—takes less than 10 minutes.

Thanks, @mediqcme, and Duke Heart. Supported by an educational grant from the Bristol Myers Squibb and Pfizer Alliance.

TCC 12 Days of Christmas- Lush Giveaway (Updated w/ Winner)

giftI love this time of year! And what better to celebrate the holiday season by offering A 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway on The CubicleChick.com . I will be holding 12 days of giveaways on my blog starting today and ending on the 31st of the month. The giveaways, however, will not be 12 continuous days, so you will have to check back often (or follow me on Twitter @TheCubicleChick) to see when the next giveaway will be.

Up first is a company I have fallen in love with recently. Lush has become a staple in my household. I am in lust with their shower and bath bombs and my daughter adores the bath bubble scents. Today’s giveaway consists of a Lush Secret Santa pack which includes a Satsumo Santa Bath Bomb as well as a Snowflake Soap Bar. Wrapped in pretty packaging and sealed with a bow, this is a must have for the holidays.

How do you enter to win?

Simply comment under this post and tell me why you like Lush’s products. The winner of the giveaway will be announced Sunday after 6pm CST.

Good luck! And make sure you tell your friends online about the giveaway and The Cubicle Chick’s 12 Days of Christmas!

And the winner is……(drumroll)

@inherheels ! DM me w/ your info and congrats!

I can't say what i love about Lush as i have never tried them due to only just learning about them in the last few days. However i am told that once i do try them i will never use other products again and that there are no other products that can match them. I am hoping to be able to try Lush through your kindness by having this giveaway.

Whoever the winner maybe i am sure these Lush products will be enjoyed to the max. x

I love LUSH! Their products are body safe and vegan. Not to mention everything is handmade! You can't say that about most bath and body companies today. Their products are unique, and the scents are really nice. I love LUSH Vanilla Delite lotion, it smells like creme brulee. Like a really yummy caramelized vanilla. I really want to try more Lush products soon. I also like their packaging! They use earth friend packaging, their packages are simple and don't waste a lot of plastic. Thanks so much for the giveaway!! 🙂
