No Soda Challenge Has Begun

The two biggest eating holidays are now over and I am now concentrating on getting back to living a healthier lifestyle. Earlier this year, after cutting soda completely out of my diet and and focusing on healthy foods, low carbs, and no fried foods, I lost almost 25 lbs. Of course, I sit here typing on my new notebook with all of the pounds gained back and then some.

And since I’m not doing any New Year’s Resolutions as I discussed HERE, I am starting TODAY with making improvements within myself. The first of which is cutting soda completely out of my diet. I have a severe soda addiction which leads me to packing on the pounds with empty calories, so I am here to say, that from this day forward, I will not be drinking any soda, diet or otherwise for the next thirty days.  I vow to drink at least 8 glasses of water with limited intake of caffeine such as tea and coffee.

As far as eating is concerned, I plan on eating four small meals per day that are healthy and self made at home. No eating out accept for the weekends, and during the weekend, if I do eat out, it will be healthy and low in fat and calories. There are many dining out options which I have used before which will allow me to enjoy a meal out on the town without piling on the fat.

My goal for all of this is not only to lose 30 lbs but to also keep it off. I also plan on exercising at least three times a week. I’ve done it before and I will do it again. But I want it for long term.

Are you interested in taking the challenge with me? What are your thoughts on weight loss and eating healthy? I need all of the advice I can get so make sure you send me a comment and let me know you think.

Here’s to a successful (and long term) challenge!

I'm with you! I'm halfway thru my water for today and I've only had 2 glasses of soda which is pretty good for me actually.

That is fantastic Robyn! My head is killing me though from the lack of soda. Every time I wean myself off, I get these caffeine headaches since I am not drinking any soda. I am on glass 4 right now and will drink tea with dinner for a dose of caffeine and hopefully my headache will go away.

We are all doing an awesome job!

I drink water alll dang on day. If I drink soda it's hard to get down it burns. I was raised in a no soda household so I only mix it with my cocktails. I'm with you on the challange but i'm cutting back on ice cream and french fries. : )

I have never been a fan of water unfortunately. I grew up on Pepsi and Kool-aid. Trying to do better for me and my family.

Lol, nah not an alky, but I enjoy a drink or two with the fellas. I actually drink water and juices most of the time.I need to get rid of coffee, that became my new addiction when the hours of my job changed.
