Friday Eye Pigment Color Challenge · January 8, 2010

Friday’s Eye Color Pigment Challenge

After a two week hiatus from doing the Eye Color Pigment Challenges because of the holidays, I have returned with new vigor and commitment to learning different techniques, blends, and colors. The last challenge didn’t get much of a response in terms of comments and I thought of nixing this series altogether, but as a still new to the game eye colorist, I want to keep it up and hopefully get suggestions and feedback from other make-up enthusiasts and experts.

Today, I decided to go for a more sultry look by using darker charcoal colors mixed with deep plum and burgundy/brown. The result, I feel, is a great look that can go to the office and afterwards, to a dinner or event without missing a beat.

View the photos and let me know what you think!

Three color blend- Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol II 'Sellout' on browbone
Sephora Colorful Duo duo No. 9 bottom color on crease.
Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol II in 'Gunmetal' on lower lid and under the eye.
Full Look- includes Iman Jaguar lipstick, Clinique High Definition Lashes Mascara in Black
Sephora Colorful Duo (can be used wet or dry)
Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol. II- My personal fave.
Ready for the day, work or play!

I like the full look. Gunmetal is such a nice color. Is that palette still available at Sephora & how much is it?

I believe the palette was $59.00 when I purchased it in November at my local Sephora store. I heard they are sold out in the stores but you may be able to purchase them online via Urban Decay. Thank you for stopping by and commenting!

Hello (: I’m new to the art of eyeshadow, too! I like the colors you used, but may I suggest a more softer highlight color? I always read that a very natural highlight with minimum shimmer is best. Also, eyeliner and mascara always completes the smokey look (: I’m looking foward to seeing your future looks! Take care.

Thank you for your suggestion, I may try a softer more subtle color for my browbone highlight next time. I nixed eyeliner this time in lieu of doing an under eye shadow app instead. I thought both would be too much. LOL. I appreciate your feedback and suggestions. I am still new to this whole eye make-up thing but learning has been fun!
