Justin Timberlake, we like the acting but get in the studio!

Justin Timberlake first stole my heart when he was with N’Sync. And when he went out on his own with two solo LPs, I had it bad. ‘Justified’ and ‘Future Sex/Love Sounds were classics in my opinion, especially the latter which included one of my favorite slow jams of all time, ‘Until the End of Time’. When the album hit the streets in the summer of 2006, everyone and their mother was playing the JT record—it was a melodic opus unlike none other and I sat for years waiting for a follow up. It’s now 2011 and we are still waiting on a new Justin Timberlake record.

What’s wrong with this picture?

Justin, I understand that you have hit paydirt and success with your acting career. You’ve received critical success in movies like Alpha Dog, Black Snake Moan, and The Social Network. You are a joy to watch on the screen, and acting suits you quite well. Not to mention your epic SNL guest appearances which alone have made me a fan of the comedy program again. Word on the street is you have two more romantic comedies coming out this summer, but where are the albums?

Your real job misses you, JT—and you belong in the studio. The music industry isn’t what it used to be and is missing really good music by talented people that cross all boundaries and genres.

Add to that that you are a man about the town as of late. When FSLS came out, you were with Cameron Diaz. And since then, you’ve been romancing Jessica Biel, Mila Kunis, and Olivia Wilde just to name a few. I don’t blame these chicks for falling for your slick lines and prose, but are they deterring you from getting in the studio and putting it down? Because if so, I may need to have a serious chat with them because they are getting in the way of progress.

I love it when people are able to spread their wings and fly to other dimensions in their careers, but never abandon where your true talent lies.

In February, you told MTV you weren’t running from your next solo album, but could you at least speed walk? Or jog? With the slow crawl you are doing now, it’ll be 2020 before you release more music.

Do us a favor, Justin Timberlake—we like your acting, but we need you to get in the studio. ASAP!

    Hi Danyelle!

I have to admit, I clicked on this post to get another look at that picture. My goodness! (Kind of hot, wouldn’t you say?)

My favorite song of his is still “Bringing Sexy Back!”

And though I look forward to his next movie, I would enjoy some more of his music, too.

I haven’t been feeling Justin since he made a smart remark about Prince…He was somewhat forgiven after that Janet Jackson Super Bowl fiasco….Black folks, well some, still have an issue with that…But once he tried to come for Prince, all bets were off for me…To me, it seemed like he was feeling himself a bit too much…His pass has been revoked…
