February is American Heart Month, and I’ve partn February is American Heart Month, and I’ve partnered with @MedIQCME and Duke Health to raise awareness about atrial fibrillation (AFib), also known as irregular heartbeat which affects 12 million people. My father was diagnosed with AFib and my family has a history of this condition, so I do my best to learn as much as I can about it.

I’ve learned that when the atrium’s squeezing becomes irregular, blood doesn’t flow as smoothly through the heart and clots can form. Those clots can travel to the brain, disrupting the oxygen supply and causing a stroke. People with AFib are at approximately 5 times greater risk for stroke than those with regular heartbeats. Stroke is a leading cause of death and also of serious, long-term disability. It is essential to get to a hospital quickly if you suspect a stroke in yourself or others.Learn the acronym FAST to recognize the signs of stroke:

F = Face. Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?

A = Arms. Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?

S = Speech. Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is the speech slurred or strange?

T= Time. If you see any of these signs, call 9-1-1 right away.

Do We Like It? Kim Kardashian Rocks the Diana Ross Look for Photo Shoot

Let me let you in on a little secret—I love me some Kim Kardashian. Not for her beauty or her fashion or her reality show prowess, but because of her hustle. Kim Kardashian and her family brand themselves like no one’s business. And it’s because of this that she has been able to continue to remain relevant in a world where her 15 minutes of fame should’ve been up. Long after Paris Hilton was able to segue her socialite-ness into quasi success, Kim is still pushing and is showing no signs of shopping.

I do not, however, always agree with Kim’s “thirst” for attention. I believe that you can be likeable without “trying so hard”, and it appears at times Kim tends to change and become whatever her then-husband, fiancee, man, etc. wants her to be. Now dating Kanye West, she has taken off the butt pads and toned down her “everyday look” and seems to be wearing more editorial type of fashion pieces. And a lot of this, we know, has to do with Kanye and his slave to the fashion mentality.

Kim Instagrammed:

Here are pics from behind the scenes of a shoot I did with Hype Williams. Clyde Haygood and Joyce Bonelli glammed me up and we went for a fun, crazy look, channeling Diana Ross. Definitely a new look for me. Xo

Anywho, recently, Kimmy was photographed by the acclaimed video director turned photog Hype Williams and shared the end result on her website. While I think Kim is a beautiful young lady, she is no Diana Ross. I wonder if Ross’ disco anthem, Love Hangover, was playing in the background as she modeled her faux curly ‘fro.

What are your thoughts on Kim Kardashian’s Diana Ross transformation. Do we like it?

She looks like a black girl 😐 … I think it’s cute from an objective photo shoot perspective. I don’t follow KK much though, only things I know are she has killer eyelashes (or extensions), a large rump and she can’t dance #womp.

Glammy, Kim is my girl. But I am not feeling this look. I am sure from an editorial standpoint, though, it will come out amazing. It will be interesting to see the finished product.

Speaking of changing her look to suit who she’s dating, I saw clip of her and Kanye the other day. He had her throw out all her clothes that he objected to and paid to refill her whole wardrobe with stuff he saw fit to wear. She looked so miserable having to throw most of her stuff out too!

Marc, Kanye is an arse but I love him too. They are both huge narcissists, so I don’t see this last long. But they look pretty good together, I will give them that. Thanks for commenting!

    Kim is trying too hard.

Joyce, I tend to agree with you on this one. Her makeup appears “clowinish”. Not fabulous at all. Rather puzzling. Wondering what the final shoot will look like.
