Top 7 Most Popular TheCubicleChick.com Articles From 2012

2012clipart2012 has been a banner year for TheCubicleChick.com. Not only have we eclipsed our traffic from last year and have had more page views than ever, we have also brought several new writers and contributors on our team to bring to you, our readers, more information, more content, and more topics for discussion.  We are very grateful for all of our readers who visit the site on a daily basis and look forward to having even more to celebrate in 2013.

This year, we also brought to you many topics and articles that have become popular online. Because of this, I thought it would be cool to bring to you our 7 most popular blog posts and articles from 2012.

Here we go…

7. Makeup: Kim Kardashian Shows Us How She Contours To Achieve Her Look

Love her or hate her, you must admit, Kim Kardashian is indeed a beauty. Her beauty is enhanced by makeup, which is applied with precision. The contouring that is achieved on Kim gives her that exotic yet regal appearance that she is known for, and being able to see how she goes from being normal to Kim Kardashian step-by-step was something I think intrigued a lot of people. Makeup artist Scott Barnes assists with this transition.

6. First Lady Fab: Michelle Obama’s DNC Style During Speech

Everyone and their mother wanted to know who designed Michelle Obama’s dress during her DNC speech earlier this year, as well as what color her nail polish was. Within minutes of Michelle finishing her speech, I was able to post the photos of Michelle in her Tracy Reese dress, and the rest was history. We received so much traffic for this post during the days that followed her speech, that the site went down a few times.

5. Whoa! What Happened to Save By The Bell’s Lisa Turtle’s Face?

I think anyone who grew up in the late 80’s and early 90’s appreciates Save By the Bell. It was one of my favorite shows back in the day. So when one of its stars came out of a hiatus looking to be a little “different”, we all had questions. Lark Vorhees appeared during an interview with blotchy skin and a weird appearance, which caused me and others to ask that question.

4. Chaka Khan, How Did You Get Your Body Like That?

59 year old Chaka Khan donned the red carpet earlier this year looking like a million bucks. Noticeably smaller, we all wanted to know how she got her body like that.

3. The 5 Thou Shall’s Of Color Blocking. Tips For Rocking the Trend

My previous Fashion Contributor Fly11 (who has moved to NYC and is starting on her new life and love—I miss her!) wrote a great piece on color blocking, which really hit its stride this year. The piece has been sourced many times and listed in numerous articles.

2. Christmas in July: 5 Predictions for What Toys Will Be Hot This Holiday Season

I wrote a fun an informative article about what toys and trends I thought would be popular for Christmas. I had no idea it would be my 2nd highest traffic post, but I guess people search on the Internet a lot for toy suggestions. Who knew? Written in July, I did actually predict 2 of the items correctly: Munsuno and Gund Girls.

1. Reality Bites: My Visit to Sweetie Pie’s Upper Crust Restaurant

Robbie Montgomery and family is OWN TV’s biggest hit. Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s garners more ratings for the network than any other show, and with me living in St. Louis, where all three of their restaurants are located, I was able to go to their newest restaurant, Sweetie Pie’s Upper Crust, which was chronicled a lot during their first and second seasons. Everything Sweetie Pie’s related is popular, especially online, and this remains the highest traffic post on my site with over 400,000 page views.
