2014 Sales Tax Holiday Weekend Dates by State for Back to School

2014 Sales Tax Holiday Weekend Dates by State for Back to School

Can you believe that it is almost Back to School time for many of us? It seems like my daughter just got out of school in May and I am already being inundated with BTS catalogs, emails, and advertisements. Back to School seems to creep up for me every year, but this time, I am ready. I’ve already begun Back to School shopping for The Chicklet as far as clothing is concerned, and now that I have her list of school supplies needed for her grade, I will be completing that in the upcoming days.

BTS shopping is best when you can save some money. And there are many states that have a Sales Tax Weekend (or holiday) so that families can save on the items that they purchase for Back to School. With the many sales and discounts that are prevalent alongside the ability to not pay sales tax, you can save a pretty penny. And if you are looking to buy big ticket items like laptops, computers, etc., then it would behove you to participate in the Sales Tax Holiday Weekend if you can.

I’ve taken the liberty to list each state that is participating in a Sales Tax Holiday, so that you know when to go shopping and what you can purchase. States that participate include Missouri, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina. States like Florida and Virginia have no sales tax for a period for hurricane preparedness.

I was so upset that NC cut out the tax weekend this year. I’ll be happy to give my money to SC this year.

February is American Heart Month, and I’ve partn February is American Heart Month, and I’ve partnered with @MedIQCME and Duke Health to raise awareness about atrial fibrillation (AFib), also known as irregular heartbeat which affects 12 million people. My father was diagnosed with AFib and my family has a history of this condition, so I do my best to learn as much as I can about it.

I’ve learned that when the atrium’s squeezing becomes irregular, blood doesn’t flow as smoothly through the heart and clots can form. Those clots can travel to the brain, disrupting the oxygen supply and causing a stroke. People with AFib are at approximately 5 times greater risk for stroke than those with regular heartbeats.
