CES 2017 Day 2 Coverage: Chrysler, Hyundai, and Volkswagen #CES2017

CES 2017 Day 2 is officially a wrap. This year has been an intense yet fun show, as I made my way to the North Hall to cover innovation with the auto brands. Each year, CES has been a “dress rehearsal” for the Detroit Auto Show, which takes place right after CES. Auto brands tend to bring their A game, as they showcase the best technology they have to offer.

I was really impressed this year with Chrysler, Hyundai, and Volkswagen. Below, I am sharing a recap of my thoughts on these brands during CES 2017 Day 2, and how they will make an impact this year on the market.

Chrysler Pacifica e-Hybrid

As I mentioned on Twitter during my walk through the show floor, most auto brands represented at CES are focusing on fuel efficiency and alternative fuel options, namely electric. Chrysler unveiled an E-Hybrid Chrysler Pacifica during CES 2017, and it is quite a beauty, if I do say so myself.

It’s got a sleek design for its “minivan/crossover” class, and has all the bells and whistles a family could want need. Sliding, automatic doors, removable seats, cargo space, and tons of entertainment options, it’s an eco-friendly vehicle that packs a punch.

The E-Hybrid Chrysler Pacifica isn’t available currently, but should make its way to showrooms sometime this year.

Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid

Hyundai has come a long way, baby. Formerly known as a cheap car that you could buy when you couldn’t afford what you really wanted, Hyundai is know a huge player in the automotive game. With it’s intuitive design, consistent innovation, and safety features, people are proud to be Hyundai owners.

In a few months, the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid will be on the scene, dishing out (get this) 58 miles per gallon. It’s a car that rivals the Toyota Prius in terms of fuel efficiency, but looks more stylish and with a little more swag.

The Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid is roomy (trunk space like whoa) and has features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto. She’s a beauty.

Volkswagen

Wouldn’t it be cool to get in any vehicle, yours or rented, and have all of your preferences readily available? Your seat and mirror position, lighting, and other options at the touch of your fingertips? That is what Volkswagen unveiled at CES 2017—a User ID interface that can be adjusted via application.

I am in love with this idea, and think that it is a major key for automotive ingenuity. While I am not the biggest Volkswagen fan, having the User ID situation does excite my inner Digital Debutante.

.@Volkswagen is giving their drivers a connected car experience by personalizing their driving profiles via app. No more keys! #CES2017 pic.twitter.com/c2pivnaOCH

The future of automotive industry is this: eco-responsible vehicles that can be run with alternate energy sources that look just as fabulous as their gas guzzling counterparts. These vehicles will be so user-friendly that driving will become fun again.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter and Instagram for live updates, videos, pictures, details, and more. I tend to overshare on those platforms, but that is also the best place to catch all of the CES tea.

It’ll be awhile before I’m in the market for a new car, but I’m always excited to see the advancements car companies are making. So many of my mommy friends live in their minivans, shuttling children from event to event.
