What to Wear on a Cruise: Working Mom Edition

Black woman wearing three different outfits on a cruise

This post features content gathered during a sponsored Carnival Cruise experience. Opinions are my own.

Are you currently searching the internet for what to wear on a cruise? Well, look no further. With this post, you will sure to find some style inspiration.

Recently, I went on a five day cruise on the Carnival Paradise to Grand Cayman and Cozumel, and I got my life and style while feeling the vibes of both of those places.

Here’s a rundown on what to wear on a cruise, specifically created for busy working moms:

Colorful hues

Don’t be afraid of color, especially when on a cruise. Vibrant hues like yellow, reds, and blues, make for an amazing palette that you can get creative with.

Dress for success

I wear dresses a lot as a working mom, and I love to wear them when traveling. They take up less room in your luggage since they are a complete outfit, and compliment most body types.

Wearing maxi dresses when I cruise is my go-to style. Rompers, too!

Comfortability

While I may live in dresses while on the ship, I also select outfits that are just as comfortable as they are stylish and cute. You can play up your look with jewelry and statement rings and accessories that’ll have heads turning (and people asking where you got your pieces from).

Rent your runway

I am a huge fan of Rent the Runway as a working mom resource. The Rent the Runway Unlimited subscription allows me to rent four items from their huge inventory to keep and wear as long as I want. Once I’m done, I send it back and get more items.

Keep it spicy

A cruise is an awesome time to switch up your style and try out new looks. You can be more daring and less predictable with your cruise wear while showcasing a different style.
