“Merry” Me!: ‘Tis the Season to Get Engaged

Written By Special Events Contributor, Danyel Buie, Event Planner Extraordinaire

This Summer, we brought you our Summer Wedding Series. We continued the series into Autumn with great wedding tips, ideas, and information to help you throw a fab Fall Wedding, and are now heading into Winter with Part 4 in our series: getting engaged during the holidays!

‘Tis the season and LOVE is in the air!

This is the perfect time of year to consider taking your relationship to the next level by popping the big question. And ladies-don’t be scared to propose to the man of your dreams, they want to feel special too!

So you’re ready to make it happen but not sure how to knock their socks off and create a lasting memory? Here are a few ideas to consider:

  • Freeze your ring in an ice cube and have it dropped it your beloved’s glass while at your favorite restaurant. When they see what they have in their drink, drop to one knee and give them the proposal of their dreams.
  • Like sweets? Head to your local bakery and request your sweetie’s favorite cake be made and placed in the display window, with your proposal as the icing on the top! Take a night time stroll by the shop, point to the cake and propose. Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too!
  • Take your foodie to their favorite restaurant. Create a personalized menu with your proposal   printed on the inside. Have the waiter/waitress deliver your special message and once opened, ask for their hand in marriage.
  • Breakfast in Bed-Make a scrumptious breakfast complete with eggs, toast and sparkling mimosas. After you’re done eating, let them know there’s one more item left on the menu to indulge in…a shiny new engagement ring!
  • More of a homebody? Make a rose trail from the front door to the bedroom…create a heart shape of rose petals on the bed and put the engagement ring in the middle. Upon their arrival, give your loved one a big hug and kiss and watch them as they follow the path that leads to the inside of your heart.

Make your engagement an affair to remember. Good Luck and Happy Holidays!
