Revive Your Hair Color: Fabulous Summer Hair Tips From a Pro Stylist

Written By: VirtuousGlam Carlalee, Professional Hair Stylist & TheCubicleChick.com Health & Beauty Contributor

The following is part one in TheCubicleChick.com’s Fabulous Summer Hair Tips From a Professional Series. In each post, pro hair stylist (and The Cubicle Chick’s personal hair dresser) VirtuousGlam Carlalee will give you tips about how to keep your hair healthy and beautiful during the hot and harsh summer months.

Summer is just around the corner. And with the blazing heat and soaring temperatures comes the opportunity for your hair to become damaged and unhealthy. But, just because it is hotter outside doesn’t mean that your hair has to suffer. You can have both beautiful and healthy hair this summer—it is possible!

When it comes to hair, nothing looks better on a new style than beautiful color! But after so many days out in the sun or just naturally over time, hair color can become dull looking, brittle, and flat.

Your best bet is to visit a professional who is well versed in color and chemical treatments. But I understand that not everyone can afford the services of a professional. Many of you want to revive your color at home, but don’t want to sacrifice the health of your hair.

What’s a girl to do?

Here’s the deal. Freshening your hair color doesn’t mean destruction to your mane.  And it doesn’t have to be expensive. There are ways to revive the color your hair that will not only had a good look to your overall appearance, but add shine, body, and healthiness.

Here’s a great way to revive your color without breaking the bank!:

  • You first start with one fresh avocado, mash it to a creamy consistency, mix it with one tablespoon of olive oil and apply it to clean wet hair.
  • You then allow it to sit on your hair under a plastic cap for 15 minutes (no added heat is necessary, the natural warmth from your scalp will be enough) then thoroughly rinse and wash hair with a moisturizing shampoo followed by a moisturizing conditioner…….INSTANT SHINE!!!
  • Also remember to stay hydrated with plenty of water which is most important.

Stay tuned for your next summer hair care tip. And until then, let’s make sure our outer beauty matches our inner beauty…XOXO

Have a question for me about your hair? Send it to info@thecubiclechick.com and I will answer your questions in future posts. 🙂
