Easy, Fuss-Free Holiday Activities for Kids of Working Moms

Written By: Parenting Contributor, Prerna Malik, TheMomWrites.com

If you’re looking for holiday activities for kids of working moms, look no further. The holidays are in full swing and if you’re a working mom, chances are you’re wondering how to make the holiday season fun and meaningful for your kids without taking off from work.

Well, here’s help.

I’ve come up with some easy-peasy and fun holiday activities that the kids and you can do without missing work:

1. Read Holiday-Themed Books

One of the easiest and most fun way to savor the holiday season is to read together as a family. Choose books that talk about the holidays. Depending upon age and preference, you can choose books that are easy, engaging and even, educational. Need ideas? Here are some great holiday reading lists for kids of all ages http://www.parenting.com/gallery/best-christmas-books-kids .

2. Plan Evening Holiday Activities

Try to schedule activities like, decorating the house or writing the cards for the evenings so that the kids and you can do it together. From making holiday crafts and gifts to going out to pick that perfect tree to simply, snuggling around a bonfire and drinking hot chocolate, let the evenings be all fun and family.

3. Make Weekends All About the Holidays

Whether you get one day off from work or two, make it count. Let the weekends during these two months be filled with holiday activities, like baking, visiting family, putting up decorations and buying or making  gifts or visiting charities and orphanages for Secret Santa days.

Involve the kids in decision-making. Encourage them to make choices. Ask for their opinions. Let the kids, regardless of age, be a part of the spirit of the season.

4. Play Holiday Music All The While

Another fun activity guaranteed to put you in the spirit is listening to holiday music. Play it while you’re taking the kids to school and sing along together. Play it while you’re getting dinner ready in the evenings and do little dances in between.  Music is cheerful and uplifting and singing together is a fun way to celebrate the joys of the season, easily.

Being a working mom can be challenging but with a little planning, you can make this busy season the best ever for your kids and yourself.

What holiday activities will YOU be enjoying with your kids?
